Resident Evil 7 Surpasses 14 Million Units Sold, Resident Evil Village Hits 10.5 Million

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experiences under my belt, I can confidently say that Capcom has truly outdone themselves with the Resident Evil series. The survival horror genre has always held a special place in my heart, and RE7 took it to new heights. I remember being initially skeptical about the game’s slower start, but boy, was I wrong!

Initially when Resident Evil 7 came out in 2017, it didn’t sell as much compared to its more action-packed predecessors at first. However, over the years, this survival horror game has shown remarkable staying power and is still achieving significant sales milestones today.

According to Capcom’s updated list of top-selling games (which includes titles that have surpassed a million sales), as of October 1, Resident Evil 7 has sold more than 14 million copies globally. This is an increase of 300,000 units from the previous quarter’s reported figure of 13.7 million units sold.

In addition, it’s worth noting that “Resident Evil 7” has surpassed the sales of “Resident Evil 6,” which has a lifetime total of 13.8 million units sold. Now, it trails only “Resident Evil 2” and “Resident Evil 5” in terms of all-time sales within the Resident Evil series rankings.

In addition, Resident Evil Village, its sequel, has continued to be a sales success. This first-person survival horror game has now been purchased by 10.5 million players worldwide since its launch in 2021. Its sales figure increased from 10.1 million earlier this year, indicating that it sold an additional 400,000 copies during the last quarter.
