Why is Arcane ending with season 2?
In June, it was revealed that Arcane Season 2 would mark the conclusion, as co-creator Christian Linke stated back then: “Arcane signifies the start of our broader storytelling voyage and collaboration with the remarkable animation studio, Fortiche.
Right from the get-go, as we embarked on this venture, we had a particular conclusion envisioned – and that’s exactly where the tale of Arcane concludes with its second season. However, Arcane is merely the opening chapter in a series of stories we plan to share within Runeterra.
It seems like the show is wrapping up, but there might be chances for spin-offs or new shows that continue the story within the same universe.
During an October interview, Linke elaborated further, stating, “Our tale had a clear start and finish from the get-go. I believe it was primarily about the character developments. We were determined to execute a particular plan.
We didn’t set an exact number for episodes initially, but we planned from the start that the story would reach its conclusion at some point.
The idea for the series wasn’t left vague or indefinite. Instead, it evolved naturally, which meant we always knew its ending from the very beginning.
