This weekend, the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance is being held at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London.
2021’s celebration honors the men and women who bravely battled during World War II in 1944, paying tribute to those who fought on D-Day, Monte Cassino, and Kohima, recognizing their heroic actions.
The occasion will reflect on past conflicts, particularly the 10-year anniversary of the UK military’s withdrawal from active combat in Afghanistan. It will also honor the offspring of individuals who serve in our armed forces through a special celebration.

When is the Festival of Remembrance 2024 on TV?
You can tune into the Festival of Remembrance this coming Saturday, 9th November, at 9 PM. It will air both on BBC One and on BBC’s streaming service, iPlayer.
At the yearly homage to the deceased, Adrian Lester will be the emcee. A diverse group of gifted artists such as Welsh music legend Sir Tom Jones, Jack Savoretti, Alexandra Burke, Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, Samantha Barks, and Jake Isaac are set to take the stage during this event.
In addition, both the Central Squadron of the Royal Air Force and the Musical Units of the Royal Marines will offer military tunes as well.
Tim Davie, head of the BBC, expressed pride in offering poignant content to our viewers as a tribute to those who bravely served in the military and to honor everyone who gave their lives in the process.
