In this fresh perspective of the crime-solving TV show, the central figure is Kathy Bates portraying Madeline ‘Matty’ Matlock, a retired attorney who, at the age of 70, chooses to return to her professional life.
UK audiences can finally catch up with the series that has been praised by both fans and critics in the US. It will make its UK premiere on Sky Witness and NOW TV on November 26th.
If you’re unfamiliar with the original Matlock series, there’s no need to worry. This fresh take on the character stands independently and, interestingly enough, the original series is depicted as a TV show within this new one.
In the latest iteration, we find Madeline, originally known as Kingston, adopting the moniker Matlock, a change sparked by her fascination with the classic show and its main character portrayed by Griffith.
