In the November 9th episode’s chilly opening, the actors playfully honored the victor, none other than President Donald Trump, who managed to outshine Vice President Kamala Harris and clinch another term in the White House. Quite an obsessed fan here, can’t wait to see what comes next!
Ego Nwodim expressed that a large number of viewers, including those currently tuned in, found the results to be both astonishingly unexpected and deeply unsettling.
During the closing stages of his election campaign, Donald Trump frequently expressed in rallies and interviews that if re-elected, he might address past disputes with political adversaries or individuals he believes have wronged him.
“The enemy from within, the crazy lunatics that we have, the fascists, the Marxists, the communists, the people that we have that are actually the country,” he said at a rally in Wisconsin Oct. 6. “Those people are more dangerous, the enemy from within than Russia and China and other people. Because if you have a smart president, you’ll be able to handle them very well.”

In the eyes of numerous viewers, like those tuned in to this very program, Ego Nwodim stated, the outcomes were startlingly disturbing.
She noted that Trump was “returned to office by an overwhelming majority,” adding, “This is the same Donald Trump who openly called for vengeance against his political enemies.”

He stated at a Wisconsin rally on October 6th, “The troublesome elements within our own ranks, those extreme ideologues I refer to as fascists, Marxists, communists, and others – they are part of our country. If you have a shrewd leader, you’ll be able to manage them effectively.

Wearing a padding-filled muscle outfit and a red headscarf, the latest iteration of James Austin Johnson’s Trump character was unveiled.
As your trusted guide in the realm of lifestyle, I’m delighted to share my thoughts. Indeed, the transformation is spot on. However, moving forward, we aim to present a deeply respectful and admiring depiction of Trump. Why? Because he’s not just an exceptional president, but a future king in my eyes. He has our unwavering support and affection, dear friend. Here’s to you, hero!
In simple terms, a post-election episode of the NBC comedy series aired exactly one week following Harris’s appearance on screen, where she was joined by Maya Rudolph, who often played her character during the election campaign but this time portraying her in real life.
The cold open marked a contrast to the somber one SNL had broadcast in response to Trump’s first victory in the 2016 vote, which saw Kate McKinnon, portraying defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, perform an altered version of late singer Leonard Cohen‘s iconic ballad “Hallelujah.”

In the most recent broadcast, the host, Bill Burr, discussed Donald Trump’s second win and his campaigning tactics during his initial segment.
The comedian remarked that his favorite moment in the campaign was when Trump made an appearance at a McDonald’s, specifically during his October visit to a Pennsylvania restaurant where he helped prepare and serve French fries to his supporters. He found it fascinating, adding that it seemed to be the only time he had ever seen the politician genuinely happy.
Burr added, “He seemed radiant. Once he stepped behind the counter, it felt like being backstage at a Springsteen concert. He exclaimed, ‘Wow, this is where they make the French fries!’ And he slipped in a few extras. He said, ‘Whoever finds this one will be thrilled.’ Was that empathy towards the people, Donald?

Previously, an SNL cast member took on her recurring character as Vice President Kamala Harris once more during the launch of NBC’s satirical series on September 28, 2024. This event occurred about a month prior to the U.S. Presidential election, where the Democratic candidate will engage in a competition with former President Donald Trump.
The actor, who had been a part of Saturday Night Live’s cast in the past and is well-known for his portrayal of former President George H.W. Bush during the ’80s and ’90s, made a comeback to the series for its 50th season debut, taking on the role of President Joe Biden (a character he first introduced on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in 2021).
Fellow SNL alum joined the actress in the Cold Open sketch to play Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff.
The comedian made his SNL debut on the episode as Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
On that particular episode, Johnson once again played the role of Trump, and it was J.D. Vance who first appeared as the running mate for the Republican leader.
