Mr Bates vs The Post Office’s Katherine Kelly leads Channel 4 thriller In Flight

As a movie buff with a penchant for gripping thrillers and strong female leads, I am thoroughly intrigued by the upcoming Channel 4 series, In Flight, starring the supremely talented Katherine Kelly. Having spent countless hours immersed in the darker corners of film noir, I find myself drawn to this high-stakes, stylish take on the genre.

In the upcoming Channel 4 thriller, Katherine Kelly from “The Post Office” fame takes center stage, portraying a character who risks everything to rescue her imprisoned child. This gripping drama is set to unfold on Channel 4.

Currently, the movie titled “In Flight” is being filmed in Northern Ireland. This film narrates the tale of flight attendant Jo Conran (played by Kelly), who finds herself grappling with her son’s 15-year prison sentence for a murder he claims he did not perpetrate.

“The summary indicates that Jo is confronted by a group of people who are aware of her son’s situation, and they coerce her into utilizing her employment for drug trafficking.

She swiftly gets drawn into a shadowy realm of crooked police officers and professional assassins, compelled to execute their commands with no apparent means of escape looming over her.

Yet, no matter how distant Jo gets from her past, her purpose stays unchanged – ensuring her son’s survival.

The six-part series titled “In Flight” was jointly created and penned by Mike Walden (of Marcella fame) and Adam Randall (from Slow Horses). Chris Baugh, known for his work with BBC Three’s Wreck, is in charge of directing. Unfortunately, a release date on Channel 4 has not been set yet.

Katherine Kelly expressed her eagerness about playing the character Jo, and she’s thrilled to share her captivating tale. She’s also happy to collaborate with Buccaneer Media once more, and she finds it gratifying to shoot in Belfast.

Alongside Stuart Martin, Ashley Thomas, Bronagh Waugh, Harry Cadby, Corinna Brown, and Ambreen Razia, the crew of In Flight is made up of these talented actors: Stuart Martin (from Rebel Moon), Ashley Thomas (Great Expectations), Bronagh Waugh (Ridley), Harry Cadby (Everything Now), Corinna Brown (Heartstopper) and Ambreen Razia (Ted Lasso).

Walden and Randall, the co-creators, stated: “Flight represents our take on the film noir style, a suspenseful, fashionable, passionate crime drama featuring memorable characters and pulse-pounding excitement.
