Deadpool & Wolverine Breakout Star Kidpool Is Officially Joining the Marvel Universe

As a lifelong comic book enthusiast who’s seen more Spider-Man reboots than I care to admit, and a die-hard Deadpool fan since the days of his humble beginnings, I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming collaboration between Kidpool and Spider-Boy! It’s not every day that we get to see our favorite characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe make their way onto the comic book pages. The thought of these two rambunctious youngsters causing chaos and mayhem while trying to save the world is just too enticing to resist.

The character known as Kidpool, who’s associated with Deadpool and Wolverine, is moving from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the Marvel Comics Universe in time for Christmas. In the movies, audiences have encountered various versions of the character called the Merc With a Mouth, including Lady Deadpool and Dogpool. However, it was Kidpool who particularly caught everyone’s attention. Now, readers will get to witness Kidpool transition from the silver screen to comic book panels in December, as she appears alongside another newcomer to the comics: Spider-Boy. Much like how Deadpool and Spider-Man work together, Kidpool and Spider-Boy are teaming up for an action-packed adventure.

“#1 of Kidpool & Spider-Boy” is penned by Christopher Yost, with artwork by Nathan Stockman, Chris Campana, and Jed Dougherty. The special one-shot boasts covers displaying Kidpool brandishing child-friendly weapons such as water guns, NERF blasters, and lightsabers. In some cover art, Kidpool is depicted shooting suction cup bullets at Spider-Boy. The talented artists responsible for the covers are Humberto Ramos, Paco Medina, and Todd Nauck – all veterans in the Spider-Man comic book universe.

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled about the unprecedented alliance between my latest favorite potty-mouthed teen, Kidpool, and Spider-Boy – one of the most highly anticipated newcomers in recent comic book history! The synopsis for Kidpool & Spider-Boy #1 promises an exhilarating adventure. Can our Adolescent-Spiderman prevent the Destructive Tween from reinstating the Comics Code? It seems unlikely, but we’ll see Bailey give it a shot! Also, is this fresh take on Kidpool the very same character from the blockbuster movie that shook the multiverse? With Deadpool, anything goes!

Ryan Reynolds enlists kids as Deadpool Corps members

In an interesting turn of events, you might not be aware that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children, Inez Reynolds and Olin Reynolds, took on roles in the films Deadpool & Wolverine. Specifically, Inez played Kidpool and Olin was Babypool. To add to this family involvement, Blake Lively donned the costume as Lady Deadpool in the movie. Furthermore, Nathan Fillion portrayed Headpool, while Matthew McConaughey was Cowboypool in the third Deadpool film. After its release, Reynolds shared a touching backstage photograph that celebrated Inez’s role in the production.

Reynolds playfully quipped, ‘I only had a tiff with one costar,’ he said, referring to Inez. ‘Many believe Deadpool is the filthiest, but she’s also quite skilled at retorts and never seems to take out the trash.’ In the photo, both Inez and Ryan are seen in their Deadpool costumes, with Reynolds bending down to meet Inez eye-to-eye.

Spider-Boy continues to introduce new sidekicks to the Marvel Universe

As a film enthusiast, I’m always thrilled to follow Marvel’s evolving “Spider-Boy” saga. Time and again, this series keeps surprising us by introducing fresh sidekicks. Marvel left fans in awe when they unveiled Spider-Boy during “The End of the Spider-Verse,” but his meteoric rise in popularity led to him getting his own dedicated series. Since then, I’ve found myself face-to-face with an all-new Spider-Girl, and soon I’ll collide with Hulkette before teaming up with Kidpool. It’s an exciting time for Marvel fans!

In this upcoming storyline, you’ll have an opportunity to encounter Hulkette and her trainer, Enormo, as they dive into the thrilling exploits of Spider-Boy and Spider-Girl during their international escapade in Madripoor. As revealed by writer Dan Slott, we will uncover more about Hulkette’s abilities and origins, as she squares off against Spider-Boy and Daredevil. A major revelation awaits Marvel enthusiasts when the mystery of her past is unveiled; for now, if you wish to witness this miniature powerhouse land her initial blows on the page, this is where her tale commences.

Kidpool & Spider-Boy #1 goes on sale December 25th.
