However, this change didn’t merely equate to enjoyment; they were immediately subjected to furtive looks from their own domestic staff and the residents of their new neighborhood.
In time, they came to accept that they differed from others, and it was this uniqueness, rather than striving for the stereotypical definition of wealth, elegance, nobility, or any other standard, that set them apart.
In the closing episode of season 1, a shift occurred when Mrs. Dryden (Ingrid Craigie), began to question her long-held beliefs about the Hardacres. However, Mary’s mother (Julie Graham) revealed the actual truth behind Mrs. Dryden’s accusations against them, putting an end to the speculation she had been propagating.
According to the summary of the final episode, strong friendships that were initially unexpected blossom, old flames reignite, and familial ties prove unbreakable. By the end, the Hardacres embark on a fresh journey, forging their path together.
