Denzel Washington joins Black Panther 3 – after Chadwick Boseman’s heartfelt tribute

As a movie enthusiast who has had the privilege of witnessing some truly remarkable performances over the years, I can confidently say that the prospect of Denzel Washington joining the Black Panther franchise is nothing short of exhilarating!

According to Denzel Washington himself, for what seems to be one of his final acting engagements before retiring, he plans to make an appearance in the upcoming third installment of the Black Panther series.

Although Marvel Studios hasn’t publicly announced plans for a third Black Panther movie, Lupita Nyong’o’s recent comments hint towards its possibility, and it appears that director Ryan Coogler is currently working on the project.

In an interview with the Today show, Washington expressed his preference for collaborating with top-tier talents, stating, “I believe my career has reached a stage where I’m selective about who I work with, and I wonder if there will be many more films in my future. What I desire now is to take on new challenges and experiences.

He went on: “I played Othello at 22, I’m now going to play it at 70.

Following that, I’ll be portraying Hannibal. Subsequently, I had a discussion with Steve McQueen regarding a movie project. Later on, Ryan Coogler has penned a role specifically for me in the upcoming Black Panther film.

Fans of the popular Marvel movie, Black Panther, are moved by the news that Denzel Washington will join the series. This sentiment is heightened due to the late Chadwick Boseman’s statement that “Black Panther” cannot exist without Denzel Washington.

At the 47th American Film Institute Life Achievement Award in 2019, Boseman expressed his admiration for Washington by saying: “The entire cast of our generation stands tall because we stand on your shoulders. The battles you won day by day, the ground you gained in a thousand arenas, the sacrifices you made for our film culture, and the principles you refused to compromise—these serve as our blueprints for success.

In the year 2018, Chadwick Boseman starred as T’Challa (also known as Black Panther) in the initial Black Panther movie, but tragically he passed away in 2020. Consequently, Letitia Wright assumed the leading role for the film’s sequel titled Wakanda Forever.

Presently, you’ll see Washington portraying Macrinus in Gladiator II, a character inspired by the real-life individual of the same name in history.

Although Marvel Studios hasn’t announced Black Panther 3 officially, it’s likely we won’t have to wait much longer for updates now that an esteemed actor like Denzel Washington has signed on.
