It’s been confirmed by the Marion County Coroner’s Office that Derek Sink was discovered deceased in a tanning bed at a fitness center, three days after he had entered the premises. This unfortunate incident occurred when Derek was 39 years old. (Reported to People)

On November 8, it was reported by local NBC affiliate WTHR that Sink had been to Planet Fitness and his body was found on November 11. His aunt added that since he was wearing an ankle monitor, authorities concluded that Sink remained in the gym after his arrival without leaving at any point.
In my recent journey of maintaining a fit lifestyle, I found myself at the gym two days prior. Little did I know that this simple routine would take an unexpected turn. Regrettably, news of my disappearance was reported by my family, as stated in police records that were later obtained by the Indianapolis Star.
No cause of death has been determined in the case.
On November 11th, during her visit to the Indianapolis Planet Fitness, a resident woman named Elizabeth Len mentioned that she noticed an unpleasant odor upon entering the establishment. The scent, as she later discovered, seemed to be emanating from the tanning beds.
In her interview with WTHR on November 12th, she expressed, “I think there’s a door on the tanning bed.” However, she questioned, “Yet, why aren’t we worried that this tanning bed has been shut for three days now? Could it be an issue?
