As an ardent follower of the world of wellness and self-discovery, I have been closely following the tumultuous journey of Nicole Daedone, the trailblazing founder of OneTaste. Despite the recent allegations against her organization, my admiration for her unwavering commitment to women’s sexual empowerment remains undiminished.
Nicole Daedone is addressing allegations about her wellness organization.
The founder of OneTaste rejected allegations claiming she mistreated employees at her “orgasmic meditation” firm by subjecting them to emotional and physical abuse, as well as compelling them to engage in sexual activities.
Daedone told NBC News in an interview published Nov. 13, “It’s definitely not true.”
Concerning the additional accusations against her company: The ex-CEO mentioned that she’s not entirely taken aback since OneTaste, which has attracted notable figures like Gwyneth Paltrow and Khloe Kardashian, has been accused of being a “sex cult.” However, she maintains it is not one.
She explained, “What I’m trying to convey is this: on one side, it seems logical to me. The logic being that our society lacks the comprehension of female power, the dynamics of femininity, and women’s ability to control their desires.
In 2005, Daedone established OneTaste with the objective of enhancing female wellness through “orgasmic meditation” sessions, a form of 15-minute partnered exercises designed to foster a secure space for women’s sexual inclinations to surface. The company was later renamed Institute of OM when she sold it in 2017. However, in 2023, the wellness advocate faced allegations of conspiracy related to forced labor, following a Netflix documentary titled Orgasm Inc., which contained testimonies from former employees who claimed they experienced an oppressive atmosphere during their tenure with the program.
It is claimed that she targeted individuals who had experienced trauma, compelled them into financial obligation through establishing credit lines for her company’s courses, made them share living spaces, and influenced them into engaging in sexual activities with investors and clients, as reported by NBC News.
But for Daedone, the allegations were simply “cut and paste.”
At OneTaste, we firmly believed in 100% consent. When discussing our practice, I’d make it clear that you could choose to participate or not, and your ‘no’ would always be valid during the entire session.
Regarding her upcoming actions, Daedone is scheduled to go on trial in January 2025 for the charges against her. If found guilty, she may be sentenced to serve up to 20 years in prison.
But she said she is looking forward to proving her innocence in court.
She expressed that, like any other individual, this woman felt reluctant about going to court due to its demanding nature, even for minor hearings. However, she emphasized her desire to attend court proceedings because she wanted everything to be out in the open and transparent.
She added, “I want it to be exposed. I want everything that I didn’t say to be said.”
