A recent showcase offered insight into the FPS, revealing that there are twenty interconnected regions for exploration, which include enlarged zones from previous games and entirely new areas. Although Elden Ring’s world isn’t the largest map in gaming history, it’s still remarkably expansive for a shooter game, with an area of approximately 80 square kilometers. In comparison, the world of STALKER 2 covers about 75% of that space, but what sets it apart is its focus on grounded movement and exploration on foot instead of rapid sprinting or riding a spectral horse. Essentially, despite not holding any size records, the game’s environment should still feel incredibly vast to players.
