Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Join Spidey and His Amazing Friends in New Clip (Exclusive)

As a long-time Marvel enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends from the comic books to the small screen, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the introduction of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur! The thought of these two dynamic characters joining the team is not only a testament to the show’s growing popularity but also a nod to the enduring appeal of the Marvel Universe.

Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends continues to introduce beloved characters from its universe, such as Iron Man, Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Reptil, and more. However, it’s set to add one of Marvel’s most charming duos: Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur! You can catch an exclusive sneak peek at their first encounter with Spider-Man and his friends in the clip above. Previously voiced by series stars Diamond White and Fred Tatasciore, they will once again lend their talents to bring these characters to life. Series Executive Producer Harrison Wilcox also shared insights about this episode, as well as the dinosaur-themed season ahead and potential future developments with ComicBook.

In the upcoming episode airing November 15th, titled “Moon Girl and the Dino Dilemma,” the adored Marvel pair will have their series premiere on both Disney Channel and Disney Jr. Initially, there seems to be some misunderstanding among the heroes, as shown in the video above, but they soon clarify things and make fitting introductions.

Following that, it’s high time for us, the team, to zero in on the real antagonist – none other than Green Goblin who has been wreaking havoc across the city with his sleek dinosaur-mech. Our collective intellect and teamwork will be crucial in dismantling this menace and halting the destructive power of Green Goblin’s latest invention.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’s Big Debut

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur make an ideal fit for the Dino-Web’s theme in season 3, and upon integrating Reptil, Wilcox expressed great enthusiasm about also incorporating Lunella and Devil Dinosaur into the mix.

Each year, we aim to provide our audience with fresh, entertaining experiences, and since many of our team members have children who adore dinosaurs, incorporating a dinosaur-themed character seemed like a fantastic idea. In fact, we had Reptil in storage from season two. For those unaware, Reptil is a character who can transform into various dinosaurs. We believed it would be fitting for him to bestow this ability on some of our heroes this season. Additionally, it would add an extra layer of excitement to observe the consequences if this power fell into the hands of our villains as well.

In this episode, we’re witnessing a unique moment in the series – the initial team-up of our Marvel heroes, a staple element often found in many iconic comic book collaborations. As stated by Wilcox, an interesting aspect of this tale is that it marks the first occasion on the show where two superheroes are meeting each other for the very first time.

In a twist reminiscent of Marvel’s classic case of mistaken identity, Spider-Man finds himself tackling a problem involving a dinosaur, one that Green Goblin has created. However, upon arrival, he encounters Devil Dinosaur and, quite logically, concludes that this enormous red T-Rex must be the source of the trouble. Consequently, Spider-Man and Moon Girl need to sort out the confusion and eventually join forces. I believe this situation offers a fresh perspective not yet explored on the show, and it carries a valuable lesson for young viewers.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur rapidly gained popularity due to their delightful cast, the blend of humor and action, and their distinctive artistic style, which Wilcox is well-acquainted with. Now, Spidey and Spin get to experience this firsthand. “This is the Marvel universe that fans have adored for decades,” said Wilcox, who served as exec for Marvel on the project. “I was familiar with the Moon Girl project, and I thought, wouldn’t it be fantastic? How could we not incorporate Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur into this series, introducing these characters to a more youthful audience?

A Welcome Return

It was crucial to have White and Tatasciore reprise their roles because their voices instantly make you feel comfortable when their characters start speaking. Additionally, the sound is significant; when it’s the same actor voicing a character across different projects, it feels familiar, like hearing from a friend. For instance, if you’ve watched Moon Girl, you’ll recognize Diamond’s voice for Lunella on other projects as well. In essence, I believe the charm lies in both the visual representation and the voices provided by those same actors. We’ve seen this work successfully on previous projects, with some of our Avengers actors having voiced their roles for over 15 to 20 years now.

Speaking about the remaining episodes of the season, Wilcox mentioned, “We’ve got many more characters with dinosaur abilities coming up. So, I believe viewers will be delighted by some unexpected surprises we still have in store.

The episode titled “Moon Girl and the Dino Dilemma” from Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends will premiere on both Disney Channel and Disney Junior on Friday, November 15th.
