See Cameron Diaz’s Return to the Big Screen in Back in Action Trailer

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a knack for spotting hidden gems and blockbuster hits alike, I must say this diverse lineup of upcoming films has me positively thrilled! From action-packed thrillers to heartwarming comedies, there’s something here for every taste.

Cameron Diaz is ready for her closeup.

After a decade since her last film, the actress from Charlie’s Angels is using her acting skills again, this time partnering with Jamie Foxx in Netflix’s forthcoming action-comedy titled Back in Action.

In a trailer revealed on November 14th, Cameron and Jamie portray ex-CIA agents who traded their secretive lives for starting a family. Yet, their peaceful life is disrupted as they are drawn back into the realm of spying when their identities are exposed.

“Just like old times, baby,”  Jamie’s character said in the preview. “Just like old times.”

Starring Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, and Glenn Close, this upcoming movie marks the third on-screen collaboration between Jamie Demetriou and Cameron. They previously appeared together in the 2014 film “Annie” and the 1999 production “Any Given Sunday.

Jamie played a significant role in convincing Cameron, who retired from acting in 2018, to act again in front of the camera.

She shared at the Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in October that she found it hard to refuse Jamie. He had asked, “Will you come with me?” and her response was essentially, “Sure, let’s give it a try.

However, she mentioned that her decade-long break from the spotlight was essential for her to regain control over her personal life.

Cameron stated, “I was utterly indifferent towards everything else. No one’s views, achievements, proposals, or offers had any influence on my resolve to prioritize myself and construct the life I truly desired.

The actress who played the role in “Bad Teacher” used her break as an opportunity to discover and pursue what truly ignited her passion: creating a family with her spouse, Benji Madden.

With their daughter Raddix, aged 4, and son Cardinal, 7 months, now part of the family, Good Charlotte’s rocker and Cameron have found a new sense of comfort that allows them to focus on resuming her acting career more confidently.

Reflecting on our extended stay in the house, a truly wonderful experience, the Shrek actress reminisced, “I found myself needing to be more assertive. Fortunately, my husband was there, always encouraging. He said something along the lines of ‘You’ve been nurturing us and growing our family, now it’s your turn.’

She said, “He essentially told her, ‘It’s now our turn to back you up as you climb and excel in your endeavors.’
