As an ardent fan, I can’t help but admire Alexis Bellino’s unwavering commitment to her faith and family. Her journey, particularly with her transgender son Miles, has not only deepened my respect for her but also expanded my understanding of the LGBTQI+ community. It’s heartening to see how she’s become more vocal about the need for acceptance and understanding in our society.
Alexis Bellino‘s two top priorities will always be faith and family.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share how my reality TV journey as a cast member on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” has been enlightening, particularly in relation to the LGBTQI+ community. This transformation in perspective is largely due to my son, Miles, who at 16 years old, has taught me valuable lessons about acceptance and understanding.
She informed Andy Cohen during the Bravo series’ season 18 reunion on November 14 that her perspective hasn’t altered regarding LGBTQ rights or the freedom for everyone to lead their lives as they choose. However, what it has done is help her empathize with the suffering that comes from being judged. The only change it has brought about is making her more outspoken on the matter.
However, Miles’ transition hasn’t impacted her dedication to God.
The 47-year-old stated, “I prefer not to employ the term ‘religion,’ as it carries a rather unfavorable impression. However, I consider myself deeply spiritual and I hold a strong devotion to my divine being.
Alexis, who has recently become engaged to Shannon Beador’s former partner John Janssen, also justified previous ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ footage where she declared that she prioritizes God in her romantic connections.
She explained to Andy, “God’s plan for a marriage is that He comes first, followed by your spouse and then your children. This arrangement seems to work best in a relationship. I hold those values dear. If one believes in something greater than oneself, it tends to make one a better person.
Alexis, who has children James, 17, and Mackenna, 16 with her former partner Jim Bellino, also disclosed Miles’ amusing response to the unexpected announcement that John proposed last August.
She shared that she had sent a photo of the engagement ring to the entire family group chat. Upon seeing it, Miles reacted with “WTF,” which she later explained was a surprised exclamation from the 16-year-old. He then urged her to call him immediately, written in all capital letters. He expressed his displeasure by saying, “John, you didn’t ask my permission!” It was a sweet moment. John then asked Miles if he was okay with it, to which Miles replied, “Yes, I love you.
Heather Dubrow later affectionately agreed with her earlier remarks, stating that she and Alexis have grown closer due to their shared experiences as parents within the LGBTQIA+ community.
“She’s been an incredibly solid sounding board for me,” Heather noted, “and I appreciate it.”
See The Real Housewives of Orange County three-part reunion conclude Nov. 21 at 9 p.m.
