As a seasoned film critic with a penchant for British soap operas, I must confess that I’ve followed Louisa Lytton‘s character Ruby Allen’s journey on EastEnders since her early days. The dramatic twists and turns of her life have been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, much like the ones found in some of my favorite Hollywood blockbusters.
Returning to the Square as Ruby Allen, a character portrayed by Louisa Lytton on EastEnders, will undoubtedly bring about a lot of excitement and turmoil. The shocking revelation that she secretly had a baby with her ex-husband, Martin Fowler, is poised to be unveiled.
Despite the current situation, Lytton hinted at a possible reunion between her character and James Bye’s Martin, as well as suggesting other potential romantic possibilities for Ruby.
According to Lytton’s conversation with Metro, he stated, “James and I began the Ruby and Martin romance with only two days on set before entering a lockdown.
When we returned to pick up where we left off with the narrative, everything was hidden behind a barrier and we were forbidden from interacting directly.
In our opinion, the scene didn’t capture the desired depth of their on-screen connection and relationship. Here’s hoping we have another chance to explore if they can reignite their bond. I sense that Ruby finds the idea of him as a family man appealing.
Viewers last encountered Lytton’s character, Ruby, in November 2021, during a scene where she was being escorted away by the police following the exposure of her deception regarding Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner).
Upon learning about her comeback to the soap opera, Lytton expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m delighted they asked me to come back to the Square again, so I can explore Ruby’s journey over the past three years while she was absent from Walford and shed some light on what transpired during her time away.
