Berserk Shares Surprising Manga Chapter Update (And What Happens Next For The Band of The Hawk)

As a die-hard Berserk fan who has been following Guts and his adventures since the early 90s, I can say that the current team is doing a commendable job of carrying on Miura-san’s legacy. The recent release of chapters 377 and 378 was a breath of fresh air for us fans who have been waiting for quite some time between releases.

For enthusiasts of the series Berserk, the appearance of fresh manga chapters has transformed into a significant milestone within the realm of anime. Although the present creative duo consisting of author Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga’s artists face the formidable task of building upon the legacy left by late creator Kentaro Miura, they are striving diligently to ensure that Guts and the Band of the Hawk receive a fitting conclusion. Intriguingly, chapters 377 and 378 of Berserk’s manga were simultaneously released, marking a departure from chapter releases that would usually take some time to appear. More recently, an artist working on the series has offered a fresh update regarding Chapter 379 and has hinted that the wait might not be as prolonged as fans of Berserk may anticipate.

In our previous adventure, things were looking grim for Guts and his fellow explorers in the realm called Kushan. The current saga, “The Eastern Exile Arc,” finds the Black Swordsman imprisoned as Kushan prepares to attack Griffith and his reincarnated Band of the Hawk in their demonic form. Unfortunately, before they can launch their assault, Griffith dispatches one of his deadliest assassins – a demon named Rakshas – to throw our heroes an unexpected curveball. This demon is wreaking havoc, but it’s far from the only challenge facing Guts and company. Portals to another world have been appearing in Kushan, suggesting the arrival of a Godhand member and unleashing hordes of trolls upon the land.

Berserk: Chapter 379 Status Update

For many years, artist Drache Doratan has been a prominent figure in Studio Gaga’s Berserk universe, serving as one of its pivotal artists. Previously, he worked under the wing of Kentaro Miura, the manga artist, contributing significantly to the continued evolution of Berserk. Now, as an essential team member, Doratan is playing a crucial role in shaping Berserk’s future by utilizing discussions with Miura and notes left behind by the late manga artist. Alongside writer Kouji Mori, they aim to preserve the high-quality legacy set forth by Berserk’s creator.

Via their official social media platform, Doratan shared that Chapter 379 had indeed been finished, yet the specific release date remained uncertain. “As of now, the chapter hasn’t been translated which leaves me unaware, but rest assured, Chapter 379 has already been wrapped up. So please be patient until it becomes available.

Will A Berserk Anime Please Stand Up?

As a devoted fan of Berserk, it’s been quite a while since I heard any news about a new anime project resurfacing, post the most recent installment, the Memorial Edition. The Memorial Edition was a fantastic blend of the trilogy movies that revisited the Golden Age Arc, but unfortunately, it didn’t introduce any fresh stories to the screen. Now, the 2016 adaptation did venture into uncharted territory by animating arcs that had never been depicted before, Guts and the gang included. However, there are still years worth of stories waiting to be adapted from the manga.

Regarding the “Berserk” manga, there’s no news yet about when Mori and Gaga might finish the series. Previously, Kouji Mori hinted that there could be several more years of storytelling before we see Guts wield the Dragon Slayer for the last time. No matter how “Berserk” concludes its narrative, it’s likely to create a significant impact in the anime community.
