Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Update 2.0 Adds 4K Support on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that Konami has been truly impressive with their updates to the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. After a somewhat rocky start, they’ve been consistently improving the game, and update 2.0 is no exception.

As a dedicated Metal Gear fan, my eyes are mainly fixated on the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. However, Konami is still working tirelessly to refine and enhance the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, as evidenced by the recent update 2.0. This patch brings some exciting additions for gamers across all platforms- with the exception of Switch users.

Initially, players on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PS4 Pro have the opportunity to experience Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in a 4K resolution, thanks to a new Adjusted Mode. This mode uses internal upscaling for enhanced visual quality. On Xbox Series S and PS4, the game is boosted to a 1080p resolution instead.

The mentioned platforms now offer customizable settings for internal resolution and upscaling in multiple variations. While update 2.0 is available for the game’s Switch version, it doesn’t encompass the listed enhancements; instead, it introduces new controller configurations and addresses minor bugs.

Konami has consistently provided updates for the recently launched “Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1,” which, despite some initial issues, is commendable, and even more so now that the company has confirmed plans for a sequel, “Master Collection Vol. 2.
