As a seasoned movie buff with decades of superhero media under my belt, I must say that the upcoming premiere of Creature Commandos on December 5th has me more than just a little bit excited! Having followed Sean Gunn‘s career since his early days on Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s fascinating to see him take on yet another iconic DC role – Maxwell Lord.
As a die-hard cinema enthusiast eagerly awaiting the December 5th debut of Creature Commandos, I can’t help but feel a surge of anticipation. James Gunn, one of the masterminds behind the DC Universe, has been teasing us with tantalizing glimpses of what this show has in store for us fans. With each passing day, the buzz around Creature Commandos grows louder, and I can’t help but be drawn into its orbit.
Sean Gunn has portrayed several characters in both the Marvel and DC film worlds, discussing the unique methods for each role during an interview with Zoe Chao, Nina Mazursky’s actress. During their conversation about working on the show, Gunn enthusiastically praised his character as GI Robot and hinted that fans would grow fonder of Weasel due to the series. When asked about his preferred DC character to portray, Gunn instantly replied, “Maxwell Lord.
Previously, Gunn has hinted at his character as Maxwell Lord. There’s been lots of chatter suggesting that Lord will make an appearance in the upcoming Superman. Photos from set suggest that Lord Tech is playing a crucial part within the superhero society. Gunn hasn’t been able to disclose much about his performance, but he has shared that “I can confirm that my brother James and I did discuss… which sources were relevant to my character development process.
Maxwell Lord carries a substantial backstory within the DC Multiverse. Initially introduced during J.M. DeMatteis, Keith Giffen, and Kevin Maguire’s iconic run on JLI, he served as the team’s financial advisor. At this time, Lord embodied the typical ’80s corporate executive, primarily used for comedic effect. Over time, however, his character evolved significantly.
Creature Commandos hits Max on December 5th.
