As a gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia upon hearing about the Telenet revival project. Back in the day, those Wolf Team titles – El Viento, Earnest Evans, and Anett Futatabi – were staples of my Genesis and Mega-CD collections. I remember staying up late into the night, trying to master each game’s unique challenges, and the thrill of finally beating a level that had given me trouble for hours.
Edia unveiled a preview site for an upcoming Telenet comeback initiative, adorning it with artwork reminiscent of the box covers from the Wolf Team series games – specifically, El Viento, Earnest Evans, and Anett Futatabi.
The game titled “El Viento” initially came out for Genesis in Japan on September 20, 1991, and then in North America in November 1991. The game known as “Earnest Evans” was released for Mega-CD on December 20, 1999, followed by its launch on Genesis in North America in March 1992. Lastly, “Anett Futatabi” made its debut on Mega-CD in Japan on March 30, 1993. These three games form a series collectively known as a trilogy.
