As a longtime admirer of both Britt Robertson and Chad Michael Murray, I must say that their latest venture in “The Merry Gentlemen” has piqued my interest immensely. The prospect of these talented actors dabbling in dance, especially in a Christmas-themed revue, is simply irresistible.
By now, we’ve passed the midpoint of November, implying that Netflix has begun flooding their platform with numerous Christmas movies inspired by the Hallmark channel.
Among the numerous festive movies added to the broadcaster’s growing holiday film collection this year is “The Merry Gentlemen.” In this movie, Britt Robertson plays a city dancer who has recently lost her job and is forced to organize a male-only Christmas-themed show to rescue her parents’ financially strained performing arts center.
He mentioned that it required some effort, given how complex some of the dance moves were, when questioned about the difficulty of mastering them.
To be honest, what I felt was more excitement than fear, as I found myself trembling with anticipation. But the truth is, every opportunity to acquire a fresh talent is really pushing yourself beyond your current limits.
He added: “And that’s what I really wanted. I wanted the opportunity to challenge myself, do something that frightened me as an actor. I think we always want to push ourselves just a little bit every time you do something.
“Sometimes it’s not always easy. You know, the text doesn’t always provide that for you.
However, I seized an exceptional chance. This chance allowed me to venture out, challenge myself, and experience something entirely new – all while being minimally clothed!
He added that an unexpected aspect of taking on the role is that he’s become a major convert to the art of dance.
He admitted, “I must confess, I wasn’t anticipating this, but I’ve unexpectedly grown to adore dancing.” And boy, it’s such a delightful pastime!
Despite not being able to participate much in the dancing, Robertson expressed an interest in playing the part – her debut in a holiday movie – once she went through the script.
She expressed great enthusiasm for the vacation aspect, particularly as it included dance performances.
Since becoming an adult, I’ve always found joy in being among individuals who share similar interests and enjoy participating in lighthearted, fun activities such as burlesque performances!
