As a seasoned comic book enthusiast and collector who’s been around the block more times than I care to remember, let me tell you that this latest Marvel release has got my attention! The idea of Galactus recruiting some of our favorite heroes as his heralds is nothing short of intriguing.
As a diehard fan, I’m thrilled to share that Marvel Comics is introducing a new concept! They’re planning a series of one-shots where the mighty Hulk, along with Spider-Gwen, Moon Knight, and the X-Men duo Rogue and Gambit, are portrayed as heralds of Galactus, the colossal cosmic entity known as the Devourer of Worlds. Instead of bestowing the Power Cosmic upon Norrin Radd from Zenn-La to become the Silver Surfer, the Spaceways’ Sky-Rider, this time around, it’s Bruce Banner who will be transformed into the Herald Hulk: Smasher of the Spaceways.
Written by Mat Groom (of “Ultraman X The Avengers”) and illustrated by Lan Medina (from “Gamma Flight”), the comic titled “What If… Galactus Transformed Hulk”? #1 presents a cover art by artist Ron Lim. Notably, this legendary artist behind the “Silver Surfer” and “Infinity” trilogy has designed cosmic-powered versions of Spider-Gwen, Gambit, Rogue, Moon Knight, and the Hulk, whose “Silver Hulk” form graces the Ron Lim Design Variant cover.

Starting January 1st, the initial installment of a five-issue limited series will focus on Galactus, featuring distinct covers from artists like Frank Miller (known for Daredevil), Ryan Brown (Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt), Stephen Platt (Cable), and Mark Bagley (Ultimate Spider-Man). These covers will pay tribute to the iconic 1962 cover of Tales to Astonish #34. Here’s a glimpse at them.
If the scenario were to unfold that Galactus alters Hulk, then the following comics featuring Gambit, Moon Knight, Rogue, and Spider-Gwen will be published successively every week in January:
