This Christmas season, it’s been announced that actress Tamzin Outhwaite is the fifth celebrity joining the lineup for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing holiday edition.
Tonight on Strictly: It Takes Two, it was revealed that Outhwaite is one of the five celebrities scheduled for the 2024 Christmas special. She’ll be partnered with pro dancer Nikita Kuzmin in the upcoming event.
Every year, I look forward to the holiday spirit, ringing jingle bells, and the unexpected fun that mistletoe brings! This time around, six celebrities will strut their stuff on the dance floor in a quest to be named Strictly Christmas Champion 2024. Can’t wait to join you in the festivities!
On Thursday, 21st December, another renowned personality will join Outhwaite, along with previously announced stars Josh Widdicombe, Tayce, Vogue Williams, and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey.
One may readily associate Outhwaite with her portrayal of Mel Owen on EastEnders, but she has also held principal roles such as DCI Sasha Miller in New Tricks for the BBC, as well as in Hotel Babylon and Murder is Easy.
Lately, fans witnessed the actress take center stage in Channel 5’s mystery show, “The Wives,” which concluded its run in September.
Additionally, she has lately graced the stage in Abigail’s Party at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, as well as a revival of Noises Off in the West End.
Outhwaite expressed her eagerness to trade the stage for the Strictly Ballroom during Christmas, as she’s part of the holiday cast now.
She went on saying: “I’m accustomed to appearing before a live crowd, but this is an entirely fresh adventure. I can hardly wait to dive deep into the world of glitter and sequins; let’s hope the judges shower Nikita and me with some additional holiday spirit this Christmas!
In the upcoming holiday season, Outhwaite is expected to emulate the success story from last year’s Christmas program, where Jamie Borthwick, a present contestant on Strictly Come Dancing 2024, won the championship partnered with Nancy Xu.
