As a seasoned enthusiast of visual novels with a soft spot for stories that tug at my heartstrings, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming English and Simplified Chinese language updates for the Switch version of Kanon! Having grown up playing these emotional rollercoasters on my trusty old PC, the opportunity to experience the enchanting world of Kanon on the go is a dream come true.
Starting from December 5, 2023, the Switch adaptation of the romance visual novel “Kanon” released in Japan on April 20, will receive updates featuring English and Simplified Chinese language options. Moreover, the opening movie will be accessible in all three languages: English, Japanese, and Simplified Korean, as announced by its publisher PROTOTYPE.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that the fresh lingo we’re encountering seems to be the exact phrases used in the PC release of “Kanon” which dropped on Steam globally back on June 20th.
Although not officially confirmed yet, it’s possible that the global release date for the Nintendo Switch version of ‘Kanon’ could coincide if the game includes an English language option, since the publisher typically launches their visual novel games simultaneously worldwide on such occasions.
