IDW’s Eisner Nominated Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees Offers New Look at Sequel

As a devoted fan of the anthropomorphic genre with a soft spot for nursery rhymes and a dash of dark suspense, the announcement of “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring” has sent my heart racing! The original series was a captivating blend of Dexter and Mother Goose that left me yearning for more.

The peaceful town of Woodbrook will undergo a dramatic change in the sequel comic series titled “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring“, a continuation from IDW Publishing’s critically acclaimed series by writer/artist Patrick Horvath. The initial “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees” captivated the comic book world, as readers couldn’t get enough of the unique anthropomorphic narrative that combined elements reminiscent of Dexter and beloved nursery rhymes. At New York Comic Con last month, IDW announced their follow-up to this series, but for fans hungry for more glimpses into the impending horrors, there’s recently unveiled artwork to savor.

Exclusively, ComicBook unveils the promotional art for Patrick Horvath’s “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring”. In this piece, a bear is depicted walking along a road, but with blood-streaked footprints marking its path. The tagline on the artwork reads, “The Sequel to the Best-Selling Cozy Horror Series From Patrick Horvath. 2025.” As you feast your eyes on this promotional material, it’s hard not to get pumped for the upcoming installment in the expanding “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees” series. Upon initiating work on the initial installment of “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees“, creator Patrick Horvath discovered there was an abundance of possibilities within this narrative. He’s eagerly looking forward to revealing our revisit to Woodbrook. The story now advances significantly, approximately 8 years following the occurrences in the first book. We are now immersed in the era of the early 1990s, which brings about all the alterations we’re accustomed to: the internet, globalization, suburban growth… For Samantha, this signifies that the world she prefers to maintain a distance from is becoming increasingly compact.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees joins IDW’s horror imprint

As a thrill-seeking gamer, I was buzzing with excitement at the New York Comic Con revelation. IDW unveiled their chilling new horror imprint – IDW Dark – and the comic leading this spine-tingling lineup is none other than “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring“. To make the suspense even more palpable, they’re also cooking up a storm of licensed content under the IDW Dark banner. The list includes “Smile”, “Event Horizon”, “Twilight Zone”, and “A Quiet Place”. Buckle up, fellow horror enthusiasts – it looks like we’re in for a terrifyingly good time!

Next year, enthusiasts curious about IDW Dark’s offerings can grab a free comic book for fans (FCBD issue) showcasing both IDW Dark and Nightcaps titles. Notably, Nightcaps is another horror series slated to premiere in 2025 as well.

As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the coveted collection of “Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees” is now available at a bargain price and has already triggered plans for a second round of print! When this magnificent graphic novel made its grand entrance in September, it took the spot as the second best-selling graphic novel of the month, just behind “Ultimate Spider-Man” Vol. 1. So, grab your copies while they last!
