In the grand cosmic arena, it’s the most lethal hunters – the Yautja. In the heart of the jungle, they are the supreme predator – the Black Panther. Across a four-issue comic series titled Predator vs. Black Panther, penned by Benjamin Percy (known for his work on Wolverine) and illustrated by Chris Allen (X-Force), Sean Hill (Wakanda) and Lee Ferguson (Blade), the warriors of Wakanda have faced off against a Yautja clan. The conflict revolves around Earth’s most prized resource – Godmetal, which the people of Wakanda refer to as Vibranium. In their quest for this valuable resource, the Yautja turned the land of Wakanda into a battlefield, a place that King T’Challa and his ancestors have safeguarded for centuries.
In ancient times, two Yautja clan leaders, both brothers, disputed ownership of a planet within the Wolf Star System, using it as their preferred hunting ground. Their objective was to gain the admiration of their father, the ruler, who possessed a unique prize – a spear tipped with Vibranium. Due to his preference for strength, the father favored his more powerful son over his weaker, one-legged brother, leading to a deadly confrontation where only one could emerge victorious. The surviving brother would claim both honor and, potentially, the throne.
As a cunning gamer, I found myself in a virtual world where my older in-game character had just won a brutal battle against my younger counterpart. The victory was owed to a rare metallic substance, Godmetal, that my elder self had obtained during a month-long quest on Earth, collected by our father, the hunter. This powerful metal was embedded into the advanced tech of the Yautja, making it impossible for me, the younger character, to overcome.
The alien species known as the Yautja infiltrated the advanced technology that concealed the secluded nation of Wakanda from the rest of the world and launched an attack on it. This technologically superior kingdom, rich in Vibranium, had been kept hidden by King T’Challa for protection. However, his sister, Princess Shuri, wished to open up Wakanda’s borders and share their resources globally.
Ultimate Predator vs. Black Panther
In this gaming narrative, I’m the Black Panther, protector of Wakanda. The alien hunters, known as Yautja, launched an attack on General Okoye and the Dora Milaje. They claimed the life of Nala, one of ours, taking her head as a trophy. In retaliation, we struck down one of their hunting Predators who had infiltrated Wakanda’s technology and weakened our king temporarily.
Predator Versus Black Panther: To the Victor Go the Spoils
In the battle of #4 between Predator and Black Panther, both sides displayed equal strength, with the Predators managing to obtain the Godmetal they sought while vowing to return for a more powerful confrontation later on. As Okoye tended to the injured king, Shuri and Falcon intercepted the Predator’s spaceship carrying stolen Vibranium. As the Predator prepared to leave Earth’s atmosphere, he sent a message home, expressing his intention to regain his honor using the Godmetal and spilling blood. Shuri planted an explosive device on the Predator’s ship, which ultimately detonated, annihilating the would-be ruler. In the end, only Vibranium remained after the explosion.
In a distant part of the universe, the Predator Monarch and his chosen heir were made aware of a warning signal. This communication pointed them towards the location of the Godmetal, a valuable resource that would enhance their weaponry significantly, enabling the Yautja to confront armies across the cosmos, even those from Earth.
