Path of Exile 2’s New Endgame Detailed – Waystones, Towers, Corruption, and More Revealed

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing fantastical realms and vanquishing formidable foes, I eagerly anticipate the December 6th launch of Path of Exile 2’s early access. The prospect of exploring three Acts from the campaign, wielding six unique Classes, and battling over 400 monster types has me positively thrilled!

In the early access phase for Path of Exile 2, a wealth of content is made available right from launch. This includes three Acts from the storyline, six distinct character classes, approximately 50 formidable bosses, and around 400 unique monster species. However, beyond this initial content lies the endgame within the Atlas, where most of your time will be spent eliminating Corruption.

Much like the Fate Monoliths in the game Last Epoch, players utilize Waystones for travel to nearby locations, with their character level influencing the difficulty of the monsters. Each destination is unique, featuring randomly generated enemies, and you can enhance Waystones using prefixes for increased rewards or suffixes for heightened challenges. Additionally, you’ll encounter Strongboxes, which offer prizes but may also include enemies and traps, and frozen enemies who yield Essences upon their defeat.

Once a node is extinct, it becomes unreachable, forcing you to find alternative paths to keep discovering the Atlas.

In the Atlas, you’ll find distinctive spots that offer different perks: some yield generous XP and a unique item for free, while others can be cleaned out to become your personal Hideout. Interestingly, one out of every four maps includes a map boss. These bosses resemble those from the campaign but are tougher, featuring altered AI and skills. Overcoming them earns points for the Boss segment of the Atlas Tree, granting additional rewards for vanquishing bosses. Each kind of endgame content has its own tree, eliminating the requirement to repeatedly respecify.

Starting December 6th, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be diving into the early access phase of Path of Exile 2 on my Xbox Series X/S, PS5, or PC! Priced at just $29.99, this anticipated expansion is estimated to run for a six-month journey. Can’t wait!
