New Xbox Series X Exclusive Game Is Getting Torn Apart by Angry Xbox Fans

As a gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that this year has been quite a rollercoaster for Xbox Game Studios, and I find myself standing at the edge of a cliff watching their latest release, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, plummeting down.

This year has been challenging for Xbox Game Studios as their new console exclusives have received criticism from angry Xbox fans. Some of the games released this year include Ara: History Untold, Age of Mythology: Retold, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, and Starfield: Shattered Space. Despite initial excitement, Hellblade 2 failed to generate buzz due to a lackluster release, and Shattered Space was unable to boost the numbers for Starfield as expected. The latest addition to this list, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, is currently receiving negative feedback from users in reviews.

If you happened to have overlooked it, the game came out this past week on November 19th. Currently, there aren’t any professional reviews for the game available on Metacritic. However, user feedback is present and unfortunately, it isn’t positive. The game has a rather dismal score of 4.8 out of 10, which indicates a very poor reception.

Currently on Steam, the game receives a largely negative feedback, with only about 32% of more than 5,000 users giving it a positive review. This is quite poor, particularly when you take into account the favorable reviews its 2020 counterpart, Microsoft Flight Simulator, garnered on the same platform.

On their own turf – the Microsoft Store – one might expect better ratings for the game, but surprisingly it currently holds only 2 out of 5 stars based on over 2,000 user reviews.

As a gamer myself, I’ve noticed quite a few things that seem to be causing frustration among us players. The biggest issue seems to revolve around the game’s use of Cloud streaming for handling assets, which unfortunately hasn’t been as smooth as we’d hoped.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but echo the sentiments expressed in this review: “This game is so flawed, it’s almost unplayable.” It’s disappointing to see such a release, especially when it’s clear that more testing and refinement were needed. Another launch that falls short of expectations.

It’s unfortunate that they didn’t have sufficient funds to establish a Quality Assurance (QA) team, as this has led to an annoying experience in the game’s career mode. The game often penalizes you for doing everything right, and it’s even more frustrating because the bugs are usually hidden, so you rarely know what you did wrong.

I’m grateful for the prospect that many of this game’s problems might be addressed and resolved through subsequent updates after its launch. However, at the moment, it seems the game might not be an immediate must-buy, given the impression that the current state may not justify a $70 investment.
