Dragon Ball Daima Leans Into Goku as World’s Worst Father (And The Internet is Erupting)

Dragon Ball Daima Leans Into Goku as World’s Worst Father (And The Internet is Erupting)

As a seasoned Dragon Ball fan and a father myself, I can’t help but chuckle at the latest antics of Goku in Dragon Ball Daima. It seems that our beloved Saiyan warrior has found yet another way to prove his lack of parental skills, this time by openly admitting he was absent during the raising of his own children.

In the latest adaptation of “Dragon Ball Daima,” similar to most other Dragon Ball productions, the spotlight remains on Son Goku, a character created by the late Akira Toriyama. Despite Goku’s immense power making him one of the universe’s strongest fighters, he rarely earns any accolades as a model father. Across the shonen series, Goku’s various absences have prevented him from raising his children, an issue that is addressed in the latest episode of Daima. Rest assured, this new anime series doesn’t shy away from poking fun at Goku’s lack of parental involvement.

Goku: The World’s Worst Father

In questioning Goku’s role as a parent, Panzy muses over how he managed to be a successful father figure. Since Goku is known for his lack of discretion, it comes as no surprise that he openly admits he wasn’t deeply involved in raising either Gohan or Goten. It’s a recurring joke among fans that Goku isn’t the epitome of a model father, but this straightforward statement left many viewers taken aback. The Evidence For Goku’s Deadbeat Dad Status

Initially, let’s explore the bond between Goku and his oldest son, Gohan. Frequently placing Gohan in perilous situations, Goku also missed a substantial part of Gohan’s life due to his own demise and requesting his comrades not to revive him. During crucial moments such as the Cell Games, Goku was eager to entrust the world’s fate to Gohan, even giving Cell a Senzu Bean for a “fair fight.” Despite their friendly relationship today, it’s challenging to overlook how fighting and training seem to take priority over family life for this anime character.

As a dedicated fan, I often find myself pondering about Goten’s relationship with Goku. It sometimes feels like Goku is unaware of his youngest son’s existence, given their limited interactions. Our first encounter between them was during the Buu Saga, and by then, Goten was already growing up before Goku came back to life. After Kid Buu’s demise, Goku did return and reside at home, but it’s hard to tell just how much time he actually spent connecting with Goten.

Although Daima hasn’t confirmed if they’ve addressed the criticism about Goku’s parenting skills on the internet, their recent interaction in the anime series certainly suggests that they have. With Dragon Ball Daima having several episodes left before it concludes, it will be intriguing to see what other criticisms against Goku might surface in the upcoming anime.
