Strictly’s Tasha Ghouri gets first 40 of the year as Anton Du Beke cries over performance

As I watched Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec grace the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 stage with their American Smooth, it was as if time itself paused for that magical moment. The performance to Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved was nothing short of a mesmerizing spectacle, leaving me spellbound and awestruck.

At long last, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec earned the first perfect score of Strictly Come Dancing 2024 – a flawless 40 in their American Smooth routine on Saturday, November 23rd.

The performance of Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” received resounding applause from not only two judges but also the spectators, making it evidently memorable for them all.

Following her performance, Motsi Mabuse responded with awe: “Wow, what a stunning visual representation of your voice! That tune seemed to leap off the page and into reality. The only word I can think of is: flawless!

Indeed, that’s clearly the top-tier Foxtrot from America, isn’t it? It leaves me speechless, truly remarkable, and I find myself at a loss for words,” commented lead judge Shirley Ballas.

Tess Daly confessed it was the first occasion where Shirley had been left tongue-tied due to a performance, causing Shirley to disclose that Anton Du Beke was moved to tears. “For the first time ever, I’ve seen tears from you and you were quite emotional,” she continued.

Anton conveyed: “It was breathtakingly beautiful and awe-inspiring. It simply leaves me exclaiming, ‘This is why we dance; this is its purpose.’ Often, people ask, ‘Why do you dance?’ The answer lies in this very moment – the feelings it evokes within us.

Anton went on, expressing admiration for Aljaž’s choreography while also praising Tasha. “I see the same joy in you that I feel when I dance,” he expressed, “and as I watch you dance, I struggle to find anything I don’t appreciate about it. In truth, you’re extraordinary.

Although Craig Revel Horwood hinted at some constructive criticism for the act, he also bestowed his signature “fabulous” commendation, allowing them to return for their score evaluation.

Following outstanding reviews from the judges, their scores demonstrated approval – every judge awarded a perfect 10 to Tasha and Aljaž’s performance.

After the performance, the remaining dancers and competitors rushed to congratulate the pair, with many shedding tears, including Pete Wicks.
