As a 90’s kid who grew up playing retro games and spent countless hours mastering the art of beat ’em ups, I can hardly contain my excitement for the Earnest Evans Collection! Back then, I remember staying up late to play El Viento on our Genesis console, battling hordes of enemies with a sense of nostalgic joy that only old-school gaming can provide. The announcement of this trilogy collection, including its subsequent titles Earnest Evans and Anett Futatabi, is like a dream come true for me.
Edia has unveiled “The Earnest Evans Collection” which will be playable on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This compilation features Telenet’s Wolf Team titles such as “El Viento,” “Earnest Evans,” and “Anett Futatabi.” A crowdfunding campaign via Makuake is ongoing with a goal of five million yen (around $32,456 USD), and it is anticipated that the release will happen by the end of June 2025 in Japan.
Initially released for the Genesis console in Japan on September 20, 1991, and later in North America in November of the same year, El Viento was unveiled.
Earnest Evans was initially released on Mega-CD on December 20, 1999, and later for Genesis (North American version) in March 1992.
Anett Futatabi launched for Mega-CD on March 30, 1993 in Japan.
All three games are part of a trilogy.
