Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director on Potential Xbox Launch – We Want to Reach “as Many Players as Possible”

As a die-hard fan who has spent countless hours immersed in the magical worlds of Final Fantasy, I can’t help but feel elated at the prospect of Square Enix expanding their horizons to include multiplatform releases. The thought of playing the enchanting tales of Final Fantasy 7 on my Xbox console feels like a dream come true!

Square Enix has announced that due to the less-than-expected sales of Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, they plan to distribute their games across multiple platforms in the future. While there’s a strong possibility that Final Fantasy 16 might appear on Xbox instead of being exclusively PlayStation, for now, both Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth remain exclusive to PlayStation, with Rebirth not yet available on PC either.

It appears that the director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Naoki Hamaguchi, hints strongly that an Xbox version could indeed be in the works as part of Square Enix’s plans for both remakes, although nothing has been officially confirmed as of now.

During an interview with GamesRadar, he expressed his aspiration to share the “Remake” trilogy with a wide array of gamers, stating, “For ‘Final Fantasy 7,’ we’re currently unable to reveal anything specific, but I truly aim to make ‘Final Fantasy 7’ and the ‘Remake’ series accessible to as many players globally as possible. Our goal is to cultivate a setting where more people can enjoy these games in the future, and we are looking forward to expanding in that direction.

He stated, “It’s significantly more varied now, which I believe is likely the reason our CEO, Mr. Takashi Kiryu, chose to shift towards a multiplatform approach; that’s simply where the industry seems to be heading.

Hamaguchi further expressed his personal preference, admitting he’s an Xbox enthusiast himself: “To put it simply, I own an Xbox. From my perspective, it’s an outstanding hardware system. Personally, I find the Xbox appealing.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been hearing whispers about the potential Xbox ports for Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth. While Square Enix is still in internal discussions about it, it seems like they’re seriously considering bringing these epic games to Xbox consoles. According to Hamaguchi’s statements, we might see these masterpieces on Microsoft’s platforms sooner rather than later. Keep your controllers charged and fingers crossed!

It’s intriguing to speculate if the last part of the remake trilogy might have a release on Xbox at some point in the future, but it’s likely several years away.
