For over a decade, Baker has been closely associated with Naughty Dog’s games, voicing characters such as Joel Miller from both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II, as well as Sam Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Baker’s association with the studio stretches beyond just games, as he played the character James in the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us on HBO. While it’s clear that their partnership continues into the future, details about specific projects are yet to be disclosed.

Currently, it appears there are two possible scenarios for Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 title. One possibility is a follow-up to “The Last of Us Part II,” which has been subtly suggested by Druckmann himself. Notably, earlier this year, Druckmann all but confirmed the development of a third “The Last of Us” game, as he claimed to have finally conceived an idea for this project.
It’s possible that The Last of Us Part III isn’t Naughty Dog’s next project; instead, they could be developing an entirely new intellectual property (IP) that has no connection to either The Last of Us or Uncharted. Neil Druckmann has dropped hints about this throughout 2024 without explicitly revealing the studio’s intentions. If this is the case, it implies that the character played by Baker in the game would be a brand-new one.
In the upcoming months, Baker is all set to take on the role of Indiana Jones in the video game “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle”. This game, developed by MachineGames, is scheduled for release on December 6th, available on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. Later, it will be released for PS5 sometime within the first half of 2025.
