Rift of the NecroDancer Launches February 5th, 2025 for PC, Later on Nintendo Switch

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say I’m quite pleased with Brace Yourself Games’ decision to prioritize the team’s well-being over a rushed release. The extra time spent polishing and fixing bugs will undoubtedly result in a smoother gaming experience for us enthusiasts.

Originally planned for a 2024 release, Brace Yourself Games’ Rift of the NecroDancer will be launching next year instead. Specifically, it’s set to drop on February 5th, 2025, for PC platforms. The Nintendo Switch version is scheduled to follow suit at a later date. The development team has announced that the game is now content-complete and they’re really enjoying the playtesting phase!

At Brace Yourself Games, we prioritize maintaining a balanced work environment rather than pushing ourselves to the limit. Therefore, rushing to launch a game this year would have meant working under pressure for polishing and fixing bugs, which goes against our philosophy of creating great games without compromising our team’s well-being.

Apart from revealing the progress made over the past year, the developer also disclosed details about the new Impossible difficulty level they’re refining to make it “challenging, but not impossible”. This update includes more Rhythm Rift beat maps, enhanced readability for off-beat monsters, an upgraded level editing tool, Daily Challenges, expanded Remix Mode, enhancements in tutorials and Practice Mode, among other changes.

In Rhythm Rifts, there are now background visualizers for a greater diversity of visuals. The Story Mode and bosses have undergone a complete makeover. Additionally, they’ve worked on addressing many significant bugs in the game.
