The Witcher 4 Enters Full Production

The Witcher 4 Enters Full Production

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the news about The Witcher 4 entering full production has sent a wave of excitement coursing through the gaming community. Having played every installment of this epic saga since its inception, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia tinged with anticipation.

CD Projekt RED announced earlier this year that they had begun initial development on the upcoming title within The Witcher series. More recently, in August, they shared that the project was about to transition from pre-production into full-scale production.

The next Witcher game, codenamed Project Polaris, has officially moved into its complete production phase. This was announced during CD Projekt’s latest earnings call.

Game director Sebastian Kelamba shared on Twitter, “I’m excited to share that Project Polaris has moved into full-production mode! As we face fresh hurdles ahead, it’s the dedication and skill of our team members that gives me confidence we can create an unforgettable chapter in the upcoming Witcher Saga. Onward we go! Keep an eye out for updates about what lies beyond!

CD Projekt Red’s team size for their upcoming game, tentatively known as The Witcher 4 (or its final title), spans across the entire company, with approximately 400 individuals contributing to its development. As a result, this project remains the most extensive undertaking currently being handled by CD Projekt Red.

Information about Polaris is still scarce, but it has been verified by CD Projekt that it will be the initial title in a fresh trilogy for the Witcher series. Built using Unreal Engine 5, this game will also feature the return of Geralt of Rivia, albeit not as the main character on this occasion. You can find more details about his role here.

At the same time, the company has disclosed new sales statistics for the game Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, Phantom Liberty. Both products have seen consistent sales, as you can learn more about by following this link.
