As a devoted fan who’s grown up with the macabre charm of the Addams Family, I can hardly contain my excitement for the second season of Wednesday! The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has always been a spectacle, but seeing Jenna Ortega and her fellow cast members take center stage as they incited chaos and torture (in the best possible way) was truly the highlight of the holiday.

There’s no holiday spirit quite like the anticipation for Netflix’s second season of Wednesday. This Netflix original series, a fresh take on the Addams Family by Tim Burton, was an instant hit among viewers. Although there are rumors of a spinoff in the pipeline, our attention is squarely on Season 2. The upcoming year will bring the arrival of Wednesday Season 2, signaling that it’s time for Netflix to ramp up its promotional efforts. Characters from the show, including Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday, were showcased on floats during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On two occasions shared to Netflix’s Twitter account, Wednesday and her brother Pugsley stood out as larger-than-life characters. A post expressed gratitude for the annual Wednesday Addams tradition of stirring up chaos and torture during Thanksgiving, tagged #MacysParade. The post included a video from the parade where Puglsey peeked through a dinner plate, with Wednesday standing behind him, arms folded, and Thing perched on her shoulder. Additionally, there was an army of parade participants dressed as Wednesday, adding to the “doom and gloom” atmosphere, as everyone seemed to be wearing raincoats and ponchos.

The Spider-Man balloon was designed in the style of John Romita Sr., a renowned Marvel Comics art director who was instrumental in creating iconic characters like Mary Jane Watson and infamous villains such as Rhino, Shocker, and Kingpin for the Amazing Spider-Man comics. This year’s appearance of Spider-Man showcased an energetic web-swinging pose reminiscent of Romita’s famous cover artwork for the 1972 Rockomic album of Amazing Spider-Man issues.

Lady Gaga joins Wednesday Season 2

In the second season of “Wednesday,” there’s an influx of stardom as Lady Gaga lends her talent. A popular scene from the show, which gained viral attention, had Jenna Ortega dancing. Fans swiftly incorporated this clip into their social media videos, syncing Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary” track. Now, it seems that the actress from “Joker: Folie a Deux” will be part of another well-known series, but this time on the small screen. Ortega shared with Variety, “I believe Netflix would find that intriguing.” He added, “Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday seemed to have an unusual mentor-like bond or a unique understanding, so if Lady Gaga were involved, it might require portraying two monsters who share such a connection.” Known for her role as Harley Quinn in ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ and winning a Golden Globe for her performance in the fifth season of ‘American Horror Story’, Lady Gaga is also an option to embody this unique relationship.
