As a seasoned Dragon Ball fan, I’ve seen my fair share of twists and turns since Goku first uttered “Kamehameha!” back in the day. But the latest revelation in Dragon Ball Daima has left me utterly flabbergasted! Who would have thought that Majin Buu, the pink menace who gave our heroes such a run for their money, wasn’t born from the nefarious schemes of Bibidi but rather the cunning machinations of another Demon Realm resident? Dr. Anisu and Great Witch Marba, you’ve certainly got some explaining to do!
In a surprising twist, the animated series “Dragon Ball Daima” has been unveiling significant shifts in the lore of the Z-Fighters’ universe. For instance, the Namekians have a revised origin story, the Supreme Kai’s connection to the Demon Realm has been disclosed, and there have been numerous revelations about the Demon Realm. The latest episode of “Dragon Ball Daima” has further stirred things up by introducing unexpected twists about one of the franchise’s most iconic villains – Majin Buu. Contrary to what you might have previously believed, it turns out that the origins of the pink powerhouse are not as clear-cut as we thought, according to the eighth episode of “Daima.
Heed this notice: If you haven’t watched Dragon Ball Daima’s Episode Eight yet, be aware we’re about to discuss significant spoilers. As fans of Dragon Ball Z are well aware, Majin Buu was set free from his prison due to Babidi’s malicious schemes. In the initial storyline, it was suggested that Bibidi was the one who created Buu. However, in an unexpected twist, it’s been disclosed that it wasn’t Bibidi who brought Z’s final major antagonist to life, but rather another resident of the Demon Realm.

Majin Buu’s True Creator
During the latest episode of Dragon Ball Daima, Goku’s battle with Tamagami took up a significant amount of screen time. However, viewers also got a glimpse into Dr. Anisu’s activities. As the sister of Degesu and the Supreme Kai of the Demon Realm, Anisu has been quite elusive in the recent anime series. Interestingly, it appears that Anisu had been hatching a plot long before Daima’s arrival. This is suggested by scenes showing her collecting fragments of Majin Buu during Buu’s battle against Majin Vegeta.
In an attempt to craft a loyal servant, Anisu seeks guidance from the powerful sorceress Marba, who is secretly skilled in forging Majins. Interestingly, it was Marba herself who had previously created Majin Buu, choosing instead to let Bibidi claim the credit. Given that Buu’s chaotic behavior wreaked havoc in the Demon Realm after his birth, it’s understandable why Marba would prefer not to be associated with such a destructive entity.
Janemba Incoming?
As a devoted fan, I’m intrigued by the mysterious project Anisu and Marba seem to be working on – it appears to involve a sample of Buu, remnant from when Majin Vegeta destroyed his body. While they didn’t explicitly confirm it, there’s a strong possibility this could be a canonical version of Janemba, setting the stage for him to reappear as the main antagonist in an upcoming movie. If you need a refresher on how Janemba first came into play, we’ve got you covered!
The warning about the afterlife was issued when a massive amount of evil overtook one of King Yama’s servants, causing this ordinary worker to become the antagonist of the twelfth Dragon Ball Z film titled Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn. Similarly to Majin Buu, Janemba initially appeared in a much larger form that gave off a friendlier impression rather than an intimidating one. However, after battling Goku in the spirit realm, Janemba underwent a transformation into the fearsome creature we’re familiar with. Despite appearing frequently in the spin-off series Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Janemba was never featured in either Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball Super.
