5 Emmerdale spoilers: Flashbacks reveal Ruby Fox-Miligan’s past and will Cain Dingle confess?

As a long-time resident of Emmerdale, I must say that this week’s events have been quite a rollercoaster! Here are my thoughts:

Viewers will discover Ruby Fox-Miligan’s hidden past when a flashback scene transports us back to her 16th birthday.

Meanwhile, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) grapples internally with the weight of his hidden affair with Ruby. Will he muster the courage to confess this truth to his wife, Moira (Natalie J Robb)?

Tom King, the abusive character portrayed by James Chase, deceives his cousin Angelica, played by Rebecca Bakes, into backing him up. Meanwhile, Michael Parr’s character, Ross Barton, reaches a disheartening conclusion.

Also, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) is stringing wife Kim Tate (Claire King) along.

5 Emmerdale spoilers for 9th – 13th December 2024

1. Flashbacks reveal a secret from Ruby Fox-Miligan’s past

In simpler terms, Brenda Walker accidentally reveals the romantic involvement between Caleb Miligan and Tracy Robinson, causing a noticeable change in Anthony Fox’s demeanor.

Anthony challenges Caleb over his extramarital relationship, and at the same time, Ruby justifies not only her own behavior but also Caleb’s. However, she becomes agitated as Anthony’s skepticism remains unyielding.

In the near future, hopeful Ruby will be seeing positive strides as she works on mending her bond with her daughter Stephanie (Georgia Jay).

Allusions to the past from Anthony leave Ruby uneasy, despite an outward focus on moving forward.

On her sixteenth birthday, Steph discovers a picture of Ruby, and while Ruby tries to act like she can’t recall the moment, it clearly bothers her greatly.

In 1992, a trip down memory lane takes us back to Ruby’s sweet sixteen, where she recalls her friendly interactions with the young Rob.

As viewers get a glimpse into Ruby’s past, what secrets will be revealed?

2. Will Cain Dingle confess his fling to Moira Dingle?

Moira is organizing a surprise birthday celebration for Cain, yet Matty Barton, played by Ash Palmisciano, doubts if Moira is up to it due to her health concerns.

Cain lies about his whereabouts and spends the night alone elsewhere, consumed by guilt.

Moira finds herself feeling uneasy because she hasn’t received a message from Cain all evening, yet she maintains faith that he’ll return since she postpones her hospital visit.

She makes a last-ditch call to Cain, then prepares to receive her pathology results alone.

Since Jai Sharma’s car prevents Cain from departing, he is driven by the urgent message left by Moira. However, Cain’s behavior becomes hostile, leading to his arrest by Officer Mike Swirling (Andy Moore).

Swirling is torn when Cain asks for one private phone call with his wife, and Moira is shocked to hear Cain’s been arrested. She tells him her results were fine, but leaves Matty heartbroken with the news that she’ll need radiotherapy.

In simpler terms, Cain receives a warning instead of being formally punished, and later, when intoxicated, Liam Cavanagh – a friend who’s sympathetic towards him – finds him at the garden plot and brings him back home.

Moira is really angry at Cain, instructing him to get himself together for his upcoming surprise party. However, it doesn’t take long before Cain decides he must confess the truth to Moira.

Will he admit to cheating on her during her brain tumour operation?

3. Tom King gets an ultimatum as misguided Angelica King tries to help him

Angel persists in encouraging Dad Jimmy King (Nick Miles) to review Tom’s letter, yet Jimmy is unsettled by the letter, perceiving Tom’s efforts as an attempt to control or influence him.

Angel continually finds herself mentioning Tom, which in turn prompts an emotional appeal from her that eventually persuades Jimmy to go see him.

In front of Jimmy, Tom feigns emotional distress, or puts on an act of crying sincerely. However, Tom is taken aback when Jimmy makes it clear that he would only offer him an opportunity if Tom altered his initial plea.

When Tom shifts the responsibility for his abuse onto the woman he harmed, his former wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), an angry Jimmy departs, recognizing that his nephew will not alter his behavior.

Exasperated, Ollie urges Tom against devising another plan to thwart the trial, and it’s Ollie who summons Angel for a mission.

Jimmy and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) express concern over the persistent relationship between Angel and Tom, unaware that their daughter intends to share a video in support of Tom’s situation.

4. Ross Barton is devastated as son Moses is scared of him

Ross is shocked that son Moses is now petrified of him.

With the understanding that his behavior has caused Moses to keep his distance, Ross feels defeated. Firmly determined, Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) then asks him to leave.

Ross observes the strong connection between Moses and stepfather Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), which prompts him to forgo any attempts at reconciling with his own son.

Has Ross lost that bond with Moses for good?

5. Will Taylor plots against Kim Tate amid sham reunion

Feigning a loved-up attitude with Kim, furtive Will arranges a meeting with Peter.

Initially eager to carry out their scheme, they become perplexed when Peter informs them that the situation has unexpectedly changed.

In a different phrasing, Will requests clarification on why there’s been a delay in handling Kim’s issue, yet Peter declines to contact the enigmatic third party and instructs Will to be patient instead.

Feels overwhelmed with remorse, he is, as Kim makes a concerted effort for the holiday season’s festivities, symbolizing a fresh chapter in their relationship.

On Christmas Day, Will follows Peter’s instructions and requests Kim to renew their vows. However, it saddens him when unaware Kim shows her emotions towards his supposedly romantic proposal.

But will Kim see through her husband’s deception?
