As a longtime follower of video game development, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement at the news that Ryosuke Yoshida, the man behind some of my favorite titles like “Monster Hunter: Generations” and “Devil May Cry 5”, has joined Square Enix. His journey from Capcom to NetEase Ouka Studios and now to Square Enix is reminiscent of a video game hero’s epic quest, filled with challenges, victories, and now, a new adventure.
Ryosuke Yoshida, who directed the August 29 release of “Visions of Mana,” has departed from Ouka Studios, a developer owned by NetEase Games, and has now moved to Square Enix, as he himself announced.
In a tweet, Yoshida expressed his personal news: he parted ways with NetEase Ouka Studios on Halloween. As a fresh team, we managed to launch “Visions of Mana”. I extend my heartfelt gratitude towards the development crew and NetEase for their backing. It was an enriching journey. Thank you all! Excitingly, I’m thrilled to share that I joined Square Enix in December. Here’s wishing me luck as I strive to create a game that brings joy to numerous players!
Before moving to Ouka Studios, Yoshida gained experience at Capcom in various roles. He served as an assistant planner for the game Lost Planet 2, worked as a game designer for Monster Hunter: Generations, and contributed as a designer on Devil May Cry 5.
