As someone who has been a loyal fan of EastEnders for over two decades, I must say that Monday’s episode was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. The return of Nish Panesar sent shockwaves through the Square and left me on the edge of my seat.
*Caution: Reveals plot points from the EastEnders episode scheduled for release on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on Monday, 2nd December.*
EastEnders has aired the shock return of Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) in Monday’s episode.
In a Halloween special, it appears that the villain from BBC One’s soap opera was permanently written off. This was due to his decision to confess to murdering Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) at Christmas, which he did in an attempt to make amends for his actions and prove his love for Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).
Yet, as he was taken away by the authorities, he implored Suki not to wed – trying to influence her future decisions for one final moment.
On a Monday, Heather Peace’s character, Eve Unwin, came back to Walford following a recent separation from her soulmate Suki. This was after she found out that Suki and her best friend Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) had kept a secret about the previous Christmas from her.
Driven by the endless deceptions and hidden truths, as well as discovering that Nish was privy to these secrets, Eve decided to call off her engagement with Suki and moved from Walford to Brighton.
After returning to the square, Eve reconciled with Stacey at the bakery van – it simply wouldn’t feel right without them being friendly towards each other.
Now ever supportive of Suki too, Stacey encouraged Eve to communicate with the woman she loves.
At Suki’s residence, Eve dropped by for a visit, but their reunion turned out to be awkward. The conversation became so strained that once more, Eve left Suki in disappointment, leaving the Panesar matriarch feeling devastated.
After a deeper conversation with Stacey, Eve understood that it was essential for her to take on a more significant role for Suki, becoming the person she required.
During the annual lighting ceremony for Christmas lights, a delicate woman named Suki was present. She confided in Sharon Watts (played by Letitia Dean) about her sorrow.
In simpler terms, Soon after, Eve moved up to the stage to share her thoughts on the enchantment of Christmas, love, and forgiveness, while Suki paid close attention. Alternatively, Eve soon addressed Suki directly, expressing her belief in loving someone even when they err, feeling foolish for not seeing it beforehand.
Following that, Eve moved toward Suki, expressed her apologies, and they exchanged a heartfelt kiss. This moment was met with applause and warm approval from spectators as Mo Harris (played by Laila Morse) flicked the switch to illuminate the Christmas lights. Aww, isn’t that touching?
Upon their joyful arrival home accompanied by Eve, Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (played by Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) got a call from his granddad, Nish.
From the confines of a prison cell, a haggard Nish attempted to deceive Nugget and pressure him by expressing remorse over the lack of visits during the recent hearing.
Not long after, Nish steered the discussion towards Suki. In the meantime, Nugget shared an exciting update – the Christmas lights were now aglow, and it seemed Suki and Eve’s wedding preparations were moving forward once more.
After Suki failed to follow my instructions, I found myself seething with frustration. Once our conversation ended with Nugget, I couldn’t help but feel distraught and enraged as the movie (my life) played out.
Will Nish find a way to ruin the couple’s plans?
