These mods not only enhance the gameplay but also cater to the needs and preferences of the discerning Stalker.
In its prime, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series boasted a bustling and creative modding community, extending the lifespan of each game in the original trilogy beyond expectations. In recognition of this, GSC Game World prioritized comprehensive modding support for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Given its recent launch just over a week ago, it’s expected that there will be a continuous flow of impressive mods for the game across various categories in the coming months and years. Already, several player-created modifications have been released for the PC version, subtly enhancing the gaming experience. In this article, we’ll discuss fifteen such mods available for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on NexusMods.
OPTIMIZED TWEAKS
The NexusMods user VynnGfx’s Optimized Tweaks mod is highly suggested for all PC gamers. STEALTH

LONGER SPRINTING
In the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, they’re quite firm about how long you can sprint before you need to take a break and catch your breath. However, with the Longer Sprinting mod by NickMillion, you can extend your running distance by up to 75%. This means you have more freedom to cover greater distances without needing to slow down as often.
REDUCED REPAIR COSTS
In the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the cost of weapon and armor repair can vary significantly based on the extent of the damage. A helpful solution to manage these expenses is the Reduced Repair Cost mod by hawkidoki. This mod provides six different options for repair costs, one of which makes repairs entirely free. WEAPON DURABILITY
If you prefer a more relaxed gameplay experience when it comes to weapon durability, the Reasonable Weapon Durability mod by VAXIS fits the bill perfectly. In simpler terms, this mod reduces the rate at which your weapons degrade, making them last longer without completely removing the wear-and-tear effect.
AIM SENSITIVITY
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that the aiming in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 can be a bit awkward and sluggish for many players, and part of the reason is the uneven sensitivity across the x and y axes. However, thanks to a mod made by Strangorth on NexusMods, aim sensitivity now stays consistent across both axes. This makes aiming feel much more precise whether I’m using a controller or keyboard and mouse, making my gaming experience smoother and more enjoyable.
WEAPON REBALANCING
Several critics of the upcoming game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, have emphasized the necessity for a comprehensive balance adjustment. While the Weapons Rebalance mod by Zhukoniy might not be as extensive, it does introduce significant alterations. The changes primarily focus on revising the damage and armor penetration levels of various weapons, aiming to make them behave more realistically and perform better in their intended roles. For example, an AK will now penetrate armor more effectively, whereas a shotgun will inflict higher HP damage at close range.
REALISTIC DAMAGE
In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, bullets can inflict significant harm on both you and your adversaries, particularly humans. This is one reason why it’s not a typical run-and-gun game. But if you want enemies to fall quicker to your fire, the Realistic Damage mod by JohnCena1306 can help with that. In this modification, shots aimed at the chest will cause more damage, and those targeting limbs will pack a slightly stronger punch as well.
READABLE AMMO
In the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, you’ll eventually learn to adapt by switching between various ammo types to deal with diverse threats. However, the game doesn’t make it obvious which ammunition type you’re currently using due to readability problems with the user interface. LONGER DAYS
In the immersive world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, time can pass unexpectedly swiftly. However, if you prefer to slow things down, the Even Longer Days mod by JCaleb offers just that. This mod allows you to extend gameplay duration as per your preference. It comes with a pre-set where each day is twice as long as normal (meaning an in-game day lasts for two hours in real-time). If you wish to match an in-game day with a full real-day, there’s a 24x preset available. Additionally, the mod offers various other options that fall between these two extremes.
LEDGE GRABBING
Instead of being frustratingly impossible, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 doesn’t allow you to jump, leap over, or grab onto ledges. This means that even if a platform is just slightly taller than yourself, it can become an impassable obstacle. However, with the Ledge Grabbing mod by Kennybylenny, you now have the ability to actually leap over or climb on things that should be within your reach for jumping and climbing.
A-LIFE FIX
In the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the A-Life system has been significantly upgraded, but its implementation is hindered by various bugs. The ConnerRia’s Roadside Panic mod addresses many of these issues, improving NPC interactions and reactivity, as well as resolving annoying problems like enemies appearing behind you. However, this mod may impact performance, so be aware of that.
BETTER REWARDS
In the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, some of the most lucrative missions, judging by the prizes you earn upon completion, can be considered optional.
