As a lifestyle expert, I find Judi Dench to be an extraordinary individual who continues to captivate us with her wit, talent, and resilience. Her life experiences are a testament to the fact that age is just a number, and one’s spirit can remain vibrant and playful regardless of the years accumulated.
Judi Dench‘s latest title sounds nothing like a dame.
The legendary actress recently revealed that her pet parrot has quite a colorful vocabulary, which includes a blushworthy nickname for the 89-year-old.
Dench recently had an extended conversation with Sweetie, her rescued African gray parrot, as reported to the Sunday Times. Instead of inquiring about what Sweetie says, it’s more appropriate to know that she repeats phrases like ‘You’re a slut’ and ‘you’re a slag’.
She mentioned “Boris Johnson”, but she didn’t hear it from me,” she went on. “She tends to listen to the radio instead.
Regardless of Sweetie’s somewhat unconventional choice of nicknames, Dench enthusiastically endorsed the pet for adoption.
The Belfast actress remarked, “She’s quite humorous indeed! Extremely so, I must say. Everyone ought to consider owning a parrot or a myna bird. Their vocal abilities are simply remarkable.
The Oscar winner—who shares daughter Finty Williams, 52, with late husband Michael Williams—made the cheeky confession just ahead of her 90th birthday, and she admitted that her milestone birthday gives her conflicting feelings.
Dench mentioned, “It’s just that I feel a bit uneasy when everyone talks about being 90. Instead, I prefer to focus on turning 29.” She added, “I consider myself fortunate to reach the age of 90.
The former James Bond co-star expressed her appreciation for turning 90, a feeling intensified by the recent passing of two fellow actors with whom she had shared a long career.
As a devoted admirer, I’ve been deeply saddened by the recent passing of my dearly cherished friends, Barbara Leigh-Hunt and Maggie Smith, within the past month. It’s an unfortunate reality that I now must navigate life without their presence. However, despite this heartache, I find myself grateful for the ability to move from one place to another and walk about, recognizing the immense blessings that still surround me.
In essence, Dame Judi Dench resides in a countryside home in Surrey alongside her partner, David Mills. She is living each day as it comes and trying her best to remain optimistic amidst global concerns.
She clarified that if someone were to ask her what she would be doing a day or two weeks from now, she wouldn’t know. She added, “It’s important not to adopt a pessimistic outlook, especially given the current circumstances where there’s so much to worry about.
In her words, there are numerous individuals without employment, finding themselves homeless. It’s heartbreaking to observe such a large number of people struggling, living in such a dire and unfortunate condition.
The Tony winner is still able to find hope, like in her new quest to reach yet another milestone.
“Am I going to be 100? Well, I hope so,” she said. “That would be nice. I’ll try and make 100.”
