As a longtime fan of narrative-driven games and a connoisseur of the enchanting world created by DONTNOD Entertainment, I can barely contain my excitement for “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.” Having grown up in the 90s myself, the nostalgic charm of this game set in 1995 resonates deeply with me. The collaboration between the Montreal duo Milk & Bone and DONTNOD is a match made in heaven for music enthusiasts like me, as their melancholic signature sound will undoubtedly add an extra layer of emotional depth to the game’s events.
DON’T NOD has released a new trailer for adventure game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage dubbed “Abyss.”
The trailer offers fresh insights into the storyline and personalities within the game, while delving deeper into more complex topics such as hardship and strife. Additionally, it introduces a brand-new song crafted by the Montreal duo Milk & Bone, who significantly contribute to the game’s background music.
The duo is overjoyed to share that they’re teaming up with DONTNOD for the unique soundtrack of ‘Lost Records’. They’ve always aspired to score a narrative video game, and this collaboration exceeds their expectations. Being avid gamers and admirers of DONTNOD’s past projects, it’s a privilege for them to contribute their distinct melancholic style to the game.
Here is an overview of the game, via DON’T NOD:
Travel back to the year 1995 in “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage”, an exciting new narrative adventure straight from the imaginative brains behind the widely praised series, “Life is Strange”.
Spend your last summer in Velvet Cove playing as Swann, a peculiar yet endearing individual who prefers expressing reality through her reliable camcorder. Familiarize yourself with Nora, a spark of rebellion; Autumn, a contemplative figurehead; and Kat, a mysterious and determined character.
As we transition from crafting melodies within the walls of Nora’s humble garage, to confiding our deepest secrets beneath the twinkling night sky, and venturing into the enigmatic corners hidden in plain sight, this summer promises a treasure trove of unforgettable experiences for us, this newly-formed sisterhood.
By autumn’s arrival, their bond fades away. A series of unfortunate events leads to a mysterious incident causing them to swear off any future meetings. Fast forward to the present day, twenty-seven years on, destiny brings them back together to face the old secret they buried in 1995.
The girls’ promise, made all those years ago, forever altered the course of their lives. The reason behind this promise is in your hands as you make choices both in the past and the present. Shape the narrative of both timelines, in 1995 and in 2022.
What really happened that summer?
As a gaming enthusiast eagerly awaiting the release, I can’t contain my excitement as I’ve marked my calendar for February 18, 2025 – the day Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 1 drops digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. Just a few weeks later, on March 18, 2025, I’ll be diving into Tape 2. To top it all off, a physical edition containing both Tapes will also become available for PlayStation 5! Countdown to the action begins… now!
