As someone who’s spent countless hours navigating the treacherous territories of the Zone in Stalker 2, I can confidently say that the Duga Region Base has been my most persistent nemesis. The snipers and soldiers guarding it have sent me back to the drawing board more times than I care to remember. But alas, my perseverance paid off!
If you’ve been searching for all the Journalist Hideouts in Stalker 2, you might have found yourself at a standstill once you reached the military base situated within the Duga region. This military base is heavily fortified with snipers stationed in watchtowers who can easily take you out with a single shot if you get too close to the main entrance. Additionally, there are soldiers roaming around, ensuring no unauthorized access. So, how might one gain entry to this base to obtain a unique suit and the Journalist Hideout in the Duga region? Let’s explore potential solutions.
How to Safely Enter the Duga Region Base in Stalker 2
In the southwestern part of the map lies a region called Duga, where one of the Journalist stashes is hidden within a heavily fortified base, located beyond the Burnt Forest region in Stalker 2. Tread cautiously when approaching this base as any attempt might trigger a sniper to take you down instantly. However, there’s a clandestine method to enter the Duga base, but it can only be achieved through a stealthy approach.
Remember to often save your game, particularly prior to venturing into the warehouse at the Duga Base, so you won’t have to retrace your steps if something happens.
Here’s how to enter the Duga base safely in Stalker 2.
- Approach the base from the southern side and enter through a small gate whose location is marked on the map above.
- Keep heading in the direction of the Journalist Stash while hugging the buildings on the right to approach a warehouse.
- Make sure to save your game before entering the warehouse as there’s a Burer inside ready to shoot a million bullets at you.
- Carefully hide behind the cover and approach the Burer to take it out with either 2-3 well-aimed shotgun shells to the head or some sniper shots.
After overcoming the challenge posed by the Burer, it’s now time for you to claim the Journalist’s Hidden Cache. But beware, on your path there lies a small riddle to unravel first. By solving this puzzle, you’ll be able to unlock the cell that safeguards not only the Stash but also other valuable treasures.
How to Open the Cell to Get the Journalist Cache in Duga Base
To unlock the cell door at the Duga Base where the Journalist’s Hidden Cache (containing the Journalist Stash and a protective suit with elevated PSI resistance) is kept, gamers need to follow a specific sequence of steps.
- First, start up the generator right next to the cell in front of the containers to restore power.
- After powering up the generator, turn around, go forward, and head up to the control room in the warehouse.
- Push the red button on the console to release the cell doors.
- Head back down to the cells and open them to finally loot the Duga Journalist stash and the PSI protection suit.
In the Duga Journalist Hide, gamers will stumble upon a unique firearm named “SA-U GABION“, accompanied by some ammunition. To the left of the Journalist Hide, players can grab the “SEVA-1 Suit” from the locker; this suit boasts superior PSI protection.
Be certain to leave the compound via the same entrance you used earlier. Avoid attempting to depart from the main gate since it might provoke a sniper to fire at you. Also, remember to save your progress after collecting the items, just in case something happens while exiting the compound.
