Star Wars Unlimited Reveals Jump to Lightspeed First Look and Limited Edition Boosters Details

As a seasoned Star Wars fan who has navigated the galaxy far, far away through countless battles and adventures, I can confidently say that Fantasy Flight Games has once again outdone themselves with the reveal of Star Wars Unlimited‘s fourth set, Jump to Lightspeed. The prospect of focusing on the space aspect of the conflict and the introduction of new mechanics like Piloting is enough to make any fan’s heart race!

Star Wars: Unlimited burst through the barriers, kicking off with Spark of Rebellion and hasn’t slowed down since, introducing celebrated expansions like Shadows of the Galaxy and Twilight of the Republic. Now, Fantasy Flight Games has unveiled a sneak peek along with key information about its highly anticipated fourth expansion, titled Jump to Lightspeed. As you might expect, this set will delve deeply into the cosmic arena of Unlimited’s struggle, and it is planned for release in March 2025. In addition, there are new game mechanics, a fresh type of deck, and a novel Booster Pack on the horizon with the unveiling of Jump to Lightspeed.

For the past three releases, each set began by offering two-player starter packs that were great for both beginners and experienced players alike, providing a wealth of exclusive cards to use. However, things are going to change for this upcoming release, as it will introduce two Spotlight decks instead, with each deck containing 50 unique cards. These decks will not only include five Special-rarity cards that are exclusive to these decks (including the Special-rarity Leader card), but also a mix of Jump to Lightspeed cards and cards from all previous sets. Additionally, the new Leaders this time around will be none other than Boba Fett and Han Solo, offering more choices for players due to the introduction of multiple icons.

New Additions

The big addition to the set is the Piloting keyword, which will allow you to utlize the Leaders as either Ground Units or Upgrades that can be coupled with a space vehicle to create a truly powerful force. We also got a first look at some of the cards in the set, including Chewbacca, Hunting Aggression, Bossk, Boba Fett, and Han Solo. The new key art also features Admiral Thrawn and Hera front and center, so you have to imagine some additional Clone Wars characters will also have some prominence in the set.

Danny Schaefer, the main game designer from Fantasy Flight Games, announced excitedly, “We’re delighted to unveil our fourth Star Wars: Unlimited card game collection! ‘Jump to Lightspeed’ offers an exhilarating setting with stunning artwork, where iconic characters such as Boba Fett and Han Solo engage in intense space battles.

Danny Schaefer, Lead Designer of Star Wars: Unlimited, stated that “The Jump to Lightspeed card game marks a thrilling advancement in the ongoing evolution of Star Wars: Unlimited. Launching our second year, this fourth set brings a heart-pounding gameplay journey where players can traverse the galaxy’s legendary epochs alongside their cherished characters and favorite content.

A New Type off Booster

As a devoted gamer, let me share an exciting update about my favorite game! A fresh type of booster pack has been introduced, and they’re called Carbonite Edition Booster Packs. These premium packs are designed with collectors in mind, offering a unique experience that sets them apart from the usual ones.

Each card within these packs is guaranteed to be something exceptional – either a foil version, Hyperspace, Hyperspace foil, or Showcase. Additionally, there’s an extra surprise: the packs can also contain a special Carbonite Edition Exclusive Prestige Variant of cards already existing in the set. However, it is worth noting that only existing cards will ever be found exclusively within Carbonite Edition packs; no unique cards will ever be available through these packs only.

An essential point to remember about these packs is that they are scarce, meaning only a specific amount of Carbonite Edition booster packs will be produced for each set. Once they’re sold out, that’s it – there won’t be any more printed. These were crafted specifically for avid fans and collectors, so if you want to join in and secure some, it’s best to grab them early before they disappear from the market.

Star Wars Unlimited Jump to Lightspeed will hit game stores in March 2025.
