Xbox Reveals Two Incredible Squid Game Controller Designs

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent honing my skills and collecting every limited-edition controller under the sun, I must say, the Xbox Squid Game collaboration has truly piqued my interest! The Pink Guard Instinct Pro Controller is a sleek addition to any gaming setup, and the Game Over Controller, with its exclusive nature and hefty prize package, is an enticing challenge for even the most competitive of gamers.

This month, Netflix will debut the next season of “Squid Game,” and Xbox is marking the occasion by launching two new controllers inspired by the series. The first one is called the Pink Guard Instinct Pro Controller. Designed after the Pink Guards from “Squid Game,” these stylish controllers have a translucent pink hue, much like the Cipher controller designs of late. A mask-inspired motif, similar to that worn by the Pink Guards, is found in the center of the controller, with a white circle encircling four buttons at its heart. The battery case also showcases symbols associated with “Squid Game.

The good news is, the Pink Guard Instinct Pro Controller can be purchased, either through SCUF’s website, or through Best Buy Direct. The controller features all the typical extras fans have come to expect from SCUF’s officially licensed Xbox controllers, including remappable paddles, a profile switch button, interchangeable thumbsticks, and more. Those extras do come with a cost though, as the Squid Game Pink Guard Instinct Pro Controller costs $239.99.

Although the Pink Guard Pro Controller is available for purchase by everyone, the Game Over Controller from Xbox and SCUF has a more exclusive nature. These controllers are not for sale but rather to be won, and there’s an exciting event happening in New York City where you could get one. The event kicks off on December 16th at 9 a.m., taking place at The Squid Game Experience within Manhattan Mall. If you’re fortunate enough to be selected to participate, you’ll engage in a “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” tournament. The aim is to accumulate the most eliminations during a five-minute free-for-all match. Participants can opt for their preferred platform – PC, console, or handheld.

Apart from having the chance to win one of many controllers numbered between 1 and 456, the top prize is a six-foot Young Hee gaming cabinet, which includes two controllers. This impressive setup also comes with a Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 laptop, an Xbox Series X console along with its wireless controller, a ROG Ally X device, and a one-year subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Unfortunately, not everyone can travel to NYC for this event, but fear not! Xbox will also award Game Over controllers during a special Twitch stream on December 16th. Additionally, you can enter a sweepstakes on Twitter or X’s official website to win the Young Hee gaming cabinet too.

The partnership between Squid Game and Xbox is part of a broader marketing strategy where content from the Netflix series will be incorporated into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone. At present, specifics about this promotion are scarce, but it’s known that an event involving these games and the Netflix show will take place in January. However, a definite start date for the collaboration has yet to be announced.
