Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s Family Speaks on “Senseless Killing”

As a dedicated follower of events, I cannot help but feel a profound sense of sorrow and shock upon learning about the tragic and senseless killing of Brian Thompson. His family’s statement, placed on their doorstep like a poignant epitaph, speaks volumes about the man he was – loving, generous, talented, and deeply cherished.

Brian Thompson’s family is hoping to grieve privately.

Following the fatal shooting of the CEO of United Healthcare in New York City on December 4th, his family placed a message at the entrance of their residence in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

A heart-rending statement was issued, confirmed by NBC News on December 5th. It expressed deep sorrow over the thoughtless taking of Brian’s life. Brian was a person of immense warmth, generosity, and skill who truly embraced living to its full potential and made a profound impact on countless others.

The family consisting of Brian’s spouse, Paulette Thompson, and their two children, have requested seclusion while the New York Police Department persists in searching for the person responsible for Brian’s murder.

Above all, Brian was a deeply loving dad to our two boys, and his absence will be deeply felt,” the family stated. “We value your sympathy and kindly ask for full privacy during this challenging period in our lives.

On December 4, at approximately 6:46 a.m., Brian, who assumed the role of CEO at United Healthcare in 2021, was fatally shot outside the Hilton Hotel on Manhattan’s Sixth Avenue. The New York Police Department (NYPD) believes this shooting was a deliberate, carefully planned attack aimed specifically at him, as stated by authorities to NBC News.

Indeed, the bullet casings found at the crime scene bore inscriptions like “reject,” “protect” and “testify.

Before their collective announcement, it was reported by NBC News that Paulette mentioned her spouse had been given “menacing messages.

She confirmed on December 4th that “certainly,” there were instances, though she wasn’t sure if it was due to insufficient media attention or specific details. All she knows is that he mentioned someone had been making threats against him.

Still, Paulette was unable to elaborate given the wave of grief rushing over her and her children.

She mentioned that she wasn’t able to provide a considered reply at the moment, as she had just received some news and was currently comforting her kids instead.

Before the shooting incident, it’s reported that the suspected gunman purchased two protein bars and a water bottle at a Starbucks close to the crime scene, as disclosed by a high-ranking New York Law Enforcement official to NBC News, even though they have yet to find him.
