As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for medieval RPGs, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming sequel to Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter. Having spent countless hours slaying monsters and building empires in games like The Witcher 3 and Baldur’s Gate III, the prospect of diving back into this fantastical world with the gravelly-voiced Arlo is simply irresistible.
The follow-up to the medieval action RPG, “Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter,” is set to debut a week early on platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, on January 28, 2025. This announcement was made by publishers United Label and developers Odd Bug Studio, moving the game’s release date up from its initial February 2025 window.
Currently, you can pre-purchase console versions at two tiers: $24.99 for the standard edition and $29.99 for the deluxe version. For Xbox and Switch users, there’s a 20% discount offered on pre-orders. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can enjoy this discount as well. The Deluxe Edition comes with two additional content packs.
- Augur of the Draugr Pack – Features exclusive items, including three new helms, three armors, and three pauldrons, together with three new shields and three new axes.
- Hair to the Throne Pack – An exclusive collection of six beards and hairstyles to further customize Arlo’s battle-readiness.

About
A new and violent “tail” begins…
Following the gruesome finale of the first installment, Whiskers of Winter finds Arlo embarking on a brutal mission for merciless retribution against the Dark Wings’ attack, alongside fresh terrifying side quests involving colossal beast-hunting. The young rat now has the power to infuse his weapons with various new elemental effects and abilities, making it easier for him to eliminate obstacles in his path. Improved settlement mechanics enable Arlo to reconstruct Winter’s Edge, the northern fortress of the rats, while its new guardian discovers unique and separate regions within the frontier inhabited by diverse creatures – some to befriend, others to be defeated.
Additionally, it’s been verified that renowned voice artist Doug Cockle, known for his roles in “The Witcher 3”, “Baldur’s Gate III”, and “Alan Wake II”, will once again lend his unique deep and ominous voice to the game “Tails of Iron”. In this title, he will voice Arlo, leading a brutal quest for vengeance.
