The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily launches in spring 2025, demo now available

As a seasoned gamer with decades of strategy gaming under my belt, I must say that The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily piques my interest like no other. Having navigated countless battles and political intrigues in various fantasy realms, I find myself drawn to this unique blend of historical setting, crowd control mechanics, and media manipulation.

The crowd-managing turn-based strategy game titled “The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily” will be released for PC via Steam in spring 2025. This announcement was made by the developers One or EIGHT, WSS playground, and Alliance Arts. A demo of the game is accessible right now.

In a press statement, Daichi Saito, CEO of WSS Playground, expressed that “The Great Villainess” delves into an imagined world where mass media is seen as magical forces. He invites everyone playing the demo to contribute their thoughts to the game’s development and eagerly anticipates your valuable feedback!

Here is an overview of the game, via the companies:

As Scarlet, a duchess known for my lavish lifestyle, I find myself falsely accused of murder – the only crime being my disregard for the aristocracy’s tedious traditions. I must elude the imperial armies who salivate at the thought of my execution and buy time to prove my innocence. In this quest, I join forces with Lily, a live streamer capable of time travel. Together, we work to persuade the opposing generals of my innocence, win their loyalty, and perhaps even ignite a rebellion against the unjust regime.

In a time before the internet, utilize the influence of media to outsmart opposing armies. Board an imperial airship, disseminate (on occasion, fabricated) news from the skies, and manipulate public sentiment to improve the chances of success in each conflict.

Enhance Scarlet’s forces by utilizing her charming personality: take captives during warfare, then influence them with persuasive messages. Sow seeds of uncertainty among enemy commanders to disrupt supply lines, redirect troops from battlefields, and attack vulnerable units to weaken their numbers.
