Snoop Dogg's Daughter Cori Emotionally Recounts Depression, Lupus Batt

As a compassionate observer, I can’t help but admire the resilience and strength that Cori exhibits in her journey. Battling lupus and other health challenges, she has shown an incredible spirit and determination to not only survive but thrive. Her decision to launch her own cosmetics line, “CORI by CORI,” is a testament to her indomitable spirit and a beacon of hope for others who may be facing similar struggles.

Cori Broadus is getting candid about her mental and physical health journeys.

As I graced the red carpet for the debut of Snoop Dogg’s latest TopMob special, “Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori & Wayne’s Story,” his only daughter bravely opened up about the profound impact that her lifelong struggle with lupus has had on her mental health.

From a young age, this 25-year-old has struggled with feelings of depression, often finding themselves questioning ‘why is this happening to me?’ They shared these thoughts during the Dec. 5 episode in a confessional. Being young and dealing with Lupus wasn’t easy, with frequent doctor visits and medication for high blood pressure. When COVID-19 arrived, they found themselves sinking deeper into a dark, challenging phase.

Cori went on to recount how she attempted to end her life during the pandemic.

She confided that she had been hospitalized in a mental health facility, possibly due to a suicide attempt in 2021. She emphasized how her partner, Wayne Duece, was a source of unwavering support during this challenging period. “I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have Wayne by my side,” she said, “yet we all face hardships. It will get better, and it does so with time. At times, when we’re going through something particularly tough, it can feel like the world is ending.

Nevertheless, Cori, who is the youngest among the trio of children shared by rapper Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante Broadus, ultimately managed to extricate herself from the shadows by channeling her energies into launching her cosmetics brand, Choc Factory.

She explained, “‘Alright, you need to escape this mess,’ she said to herself. So, she searched online for hobbies and found lip gloss makeup. Excitedly, she thought, ‘I adore a lip gloss look.’ Thinking it would be fantastic, she decided, ‘Let’s give it a try.’

And since starting the company, Cori has used the business to support other women.

In the confessional, she clarified that Choc Factory isn’t merely about selling products; it represents a way of thinking. The lip glosses they offer serve as a platform where women share their experiences, open up, and express vulnerability. Essentially, it’s a workspace designed to uplift and empower women.

Speaking from a place of deep admiration, I can’t help but share that I’ve been following Cori’s journey closely, particularly her battle against lupus – an autoimmune disease. Recently, she confided in her cherished friend, Itali Miller, about her strategies for managing the harsh symptoms this condition throws her way.

She mentioned to Itali that it has been around four or five months since she stopped taking her medications. Later on, she revealed that when she visited the doctor recently, her lab results were better than they’ve ever been before. Although she is still extremely tired, her body doesn’t hurt as much as it used to.
